Hey guys. Most of you don't know me-- mostly by my own design. I just hate chat boards and don't get out alot. I'm on my second GT-- the first came from Marv Rose, the second from Shelby.

Through the time I've had my cars, I've found people always willing to help eachother which is nothing short of phenomenal. I swore if I ever had the chance to help a fellow member or if one came through for me (in more than just the answer of a question or two) that I would sign up for membership.

...So anyone wanna walk me how to go through that?

About 2 weeks ago, after calling all over the US, I was unable to find the temperature gauge that my car needed. It was in the shop for some minor tightening, complete detail, etc and the temperature gauge had been sitting at 145 for several months.

First these things are expensive ($600 or more). Secondly, they are not in stock-- the projected date from Ford is something like May of 2011.

So without much hope, I put out a plea on this site. I was pleasantly suprised to have somene suggest that they could help me, but I was still hesitent. Even IF someone had an extra gauge, why would they offer it to me, a 'no one' who doesn't even post on here?

Enter StandJ (John). He happened to have what I needed, and all he asked for it was the price it would cost for him to replenish it when it comes off backorder. Plus shipping, or course. I offered him more, begged to give him more...as it was worth it to me, but he was firm. John was so easy to work with-- within 24 hours of sending my Paypal money (now that's conenient, I need one of those), I had the gauge in my hands. And now 24 hours later, the gauge is in and I'm back on the road. (I had a few other things done while waiting)

I wanted to give a big shout out to STANDJ! You saved my life, brotha. It works perfectly. I think it's nice that a forum like this exists so that even the realtively clueless GT owner can get help.

As I said, it's time to become a member...so can someone tell me how to do so?

Lastly, I've been told there's another Red 4 option GT here in Joplin, MO recently (that wasn't mine). Anyone know it?

Thanks everyone, especially John. You've been a great help.

Joe

Gentlemen,

There are few places on this planet where the behavior detailed above would not stand out. The Ford GT Forum is one of those rare exceptions. Standj's altruistic assistance to another Forum member is typical among Ford GT owners. As the rest of the world degenerates into a mass of lecherous pond scum it's nice to have this island of gentlemanly behavior to retreat to on a daily basis. Long live the Ford GT Forum! :cheers
