Deep discounts on '09 SLR Roadsters.......

I always liked these cars and a good friend called today to tell me that the factory is offering deep discounts to move '09 roadsters. List price, $507K, discount price low $300's. He is not usually a guy who gets his info wrong. Sounds like a hell of a sale to me. :thumbsup


.........and yes even at that price I would still rather have 2 GT's!! :lol :cheers

More like the MSRP was set too high from the beginning.

What do you think the prices for a used one will be in 2 years?

I like all sorts of cars, but that "deep discount" would need to be somewhere in the Mariana Trench before I would buy that seriously ugly thing. Can someone tell me why the German car designers all seem to have cataracts?
 
05's and 06's can be had in the low 200's. When I sell my Gallardo I will most likely replace it with one of these.

You can call me a Mercedes fanboy.
 
I will say this. They look a lot better in real life than in a photo. They have a very impressive engine bay. I am not thrilled with the front. It looks bland and like the other models. But I do love the rear end and the interior is stunning in person. I would like to get one......but I can wait. They are going to come down.
 
I'm with ya skyrex. They are nice.....

I saw one in Paris in front of the Hotel Athena. Carbon Fiber Wheels, Carbon fiber inserts above the exhaust. Well appointed interior.. Great looking car.
 
The roadsters do look much better than the coupes. Slicing off that awkward roofline really helps.

I still prefer my V12 powered Black Series with the two pinwheels under the hood, though.....

With $199k for new SLS, the price ceiling for this is near or below

LOL...there are a few who have asked why I didn't get an SLR. They made too many of them and charged too much.

Frankly, it really never did much for me, but the rarer, cheaper, better looking, more powerful SL65 Black just grabbed me by the shoulders and shouted "buy me now!!!" :biggrin

BTW, the review link you posted for your Black Series was a fun read. I hope to see one in person someday. I would say enjoy it, but it is obvious you do. :cheers

The SL65 or the 65 Black Series are much nicer cars in my opinion! I just have never liked the front of the SLR.:frown

Bought a black for my partner in Germany. Nice car.....but now he want's a SHO after telling him the price he said send me 4 of them one of each color...

I agree, I came close to buying an SLR this year, but just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.

The SHO is a nice car and I am all for supporting American :usa products, but if you gave me a choice of a Black series or an entire lot full of SHO's I would be driving around in the Black all day long!! :lol :cheers
 
I just looked at black in Chandler. Nice Car! As for the price, 110k+ more than the sl65? Mercedes made the right move at keeping them very limited.

You could almost purchase a new SL65 and a Ford GT for the price of the Black Series.:rofl Best of both worlds so to speak!

Note on the taurus: I just heard the ecoboost 3.5 is good for 600 crank horsepower!
