Great post, Fubar!

Just arrived in Dallas tonight with the GT from Toronto which is about 1500mi so far.
The weather does indeed suck, Hopefully it will break and we'll have some good weather the next few days.

I drove a GT straight through from Tulsa to Detroit, stopping only for gas and biology.

It rained non-stop from the time I got in the car to the time I got out.

At about 120mph, the rear tires would crawl on top of the rain water and the car would sway around a bit.

Kept me awake.
It also kept me below 120.....
Did I say the trip was non-stop?

I always drive below 120 in the rain.

120 KPH that is. :biggrin

I just blew G&T out my nose.

Thanks...

did you mean detroit to tulsa? or did you forget something :biggrin

Since I've ended up driving alot in the rain, when the rain is cooler the car is much to lose control of. If it's hot outside (summer), 85 is still pretty safe. If it's cool (spring and fall), I don't push it much over 75.

Yep, that is the same as the 120 KPH that I spoke of. :lol

I just ride the line at 200 mph every chance i get when it rains. It just helps me focus until i can get more work.

Maybe Kip's pre running the rally road trip.

Having done a long freeway slide off a motorcycle in the rain on the grapevine, and also ending off road but on bike through a mud puddle another time, rain makes me very cautious...

Hoping for dry track days ahead!

Drove my white GT to work today in the rain. After getting soaked at the Indy 500 and on my way out to Scottsdale for Rally III, I don't get worked up about it getting wet. White hides dirt well and also cleans up easy. See you Dallas guys at dinner tonight. :cheers

ByeEnzo

We were in Arlington friday and saturday for a High School Golf Tournament for my 16 yr old (he tied for first and lost in a playoff) and it was rainy and cold both days. Drove to Austin sat. pm and rained all the way and the entire sunday. This week looks good.

See ya in Austin

Try it on hoosiers !!

Oh that would leave a mark! Probably a few in your shorts.

Drove from Virginia to Missouri mostly in the rain .... interesting watching the farms flood. Other than that largely uneventful. Other than fuel stops when people asked me if I was nutz! I always answered YES. SO Larry before you get started....

GT in the Snow

I just spent two days in the SNOW going to the Rally. Sub 20 degrees from North Idaho until I got south of Denver. Stuck behind a snow plow for hours from Casper to Cheyenne doing 20 mph with very limited visibility. Ice on I25 from Cheyenne to Ft. Collins. I gotta tell you...no risk of falling asleep behind the wheel in that weather.

Oh, did I mention the GT was in a trailer behind my Touareg?...:wink
