This is the car that John Mahovitz from Accufab built. Has a Motec on it with traction control. The computer is $8000-10000 and then you gotta wire it up and tune it.
 
I think that's californiacuda's car. Looks like a reasonable ride for the street :biggrin

I have a Motec M-48 in my Ferrari Testarossa. I didn't get the traction and launch control option because I don't have wheel sensors. Since the GT does then it shouldn't be a big problem installing. Motec made the harness for the Testarossa they might already have a design for the GT. I think the biggest problem is getting the tune right.

I hope maybe John will chime in, but I'm curious how the launch control works, and if there is any greater risk to the transmission than normally launching the car. That car certainly and looks like it's well into 4 digit power territory, so I'd be interested to see what they plan to do with it.
 
Judging by the spoiler on the rear I'd guess they plan to go FAAAAAAST!

Launch control on a motec is by power reduction via drive by wire, ignition cut or ignition retard. You can program the amount slip dependent on a number of different conditions. Basically it is taking the difference in speed of tires and applying your preprogram allowances. It isn't being any harder on your transaxle than what you would be doing normally. You can adjust through the computer program given you when you purchase the unit a large number of parameters. You can also install additional sensors to allow you to monitor and control many different conditions.

Since I don't have the option I am really limited in advising how to adjust this option, but it is really a very interest option for the GT. I might note that you can also program mulitple conditions dependent on your driving conditions.

The Motec traction control is very good on any vehicle but is totally dependant on testing, data logging and programming. You can use ignition retard, ignition cut, boost control, throttle control. And just about any other creative stuff you can invent. We are using a combination of retard, cut and boost control over speed input. You use signal feedback from the wheel speed sensors and simply build a speed curve over time not to exceed. The truth is it is very time consuming to do and the higher the horsepower, the more creative you have to be.

In the case of Gregs GT, it made over 1400 hp to the tires pretty easily. Driving that is another story.
