Sarah Palin to be McCain VP Pick

Speechless.

Gentlemen,

Sarah's speech tonight completely blew me away. :thumbsup I thought she was devastatingly effective. I watched it in high definition on MSNBC HD and at the end of her speech the news commentators couldn't jump in fast enough to start tearing it apart. They look distressed, aggravated, and sour. None of them were professional enough to hide their exasperation. They knew that despite their best efforts to destroy her, this unlikely combination of Margaret Thatcher and Cindy Crawford had just hit them squarely between the eyes. Politically, I've not witnessed anything like her in my lifetime. :banana

Chip

Joe Biden.... he's not just for breakfast anymore.

crapola

Just mooted arguments about Obama's lack of experience.

Biden will eat her up.

She had to change your mind on these points a bit tonight Daniel.

I think she did a great job. Better than anyone would have expected. Now Sarah Palin is the news and Obama is in reactive mode. She made good points about Obama only use the word victory is in connection with his campaign. At least Obama is consistent in that he wants to rid our country of new weapon systems, cut the military budget and get rid of our nuclear weapons. Then if a military threat arose the only words Obama would use are diplomacy followed by retreat.

Chip did you like her story on gas stations?

I, like most of us intelligent people watched Sarah's speech. What can you say but WOW! :thumbsup

If anyone had any doubts about her, she put them to rest in a big way. You could almost hear the dems saying; gee, I wish she were on our side.

She hit the dems with a sledge hammer, and made them think it was a pillow. She ran the knife in to the hilt, and twisted it with a innocent smile. WHAT A WOMAN.

Our boy McCain has got the best of both worlds. A wife who is a knock out AND a beer distributor, and a running mate who is a drop dead beauty queen, lifetime NRA member, and could rip your heart out and make you enjoy it.

I'll bet there will be a lot of sleep lost in the democratic camp tonight.:banana:banana

I think we are back in a horse race, before her selection to was clear to me that Obama was in the lead, but not now.

I can assure you Ted Turner has called Letterman and all his news companies and offered bonuses to anyone who can take her down.:bored

I woke up still thinking about her speech last night. I saw after how she was holder her son and it was like a real Mom. I saw how her little girl was holding the baby and fixing her hair, that little girl really cared and got that from someone. Her speech, yes written about and with her. All speeches are written for all candidates.

But this Lady set a new high bench mark. That will forever go down in history as one of the best political speeches ever spoken!:thumbsup

She can tell a joke as well:lol

Excellent Speech

What a difference a day makes. For you guys on your way to AZ or the rally, you missed a great interview on Good Morning America Thursday morning (I hope they canned a copy).

The host (Matt?) interviewed Joe Biden inquiring of his response to some of the main points of her speech & position. When prompted for an immediate response, he was caught completely flatfooted, and without a hint of a flashy smile, he stated (twice) that he would not care to engage at this time. For a career politician, a really lame performance.

Sarah comes across as representative of mainstream America, not a product of the 'beltway', media or big oil. She hasn't made friends in those circles. It's gonna be interesting...

This is really funny.

Probably not that far off!!

Ironic... We were in MN on the farm, no TV, radio or internet....
When this was playing out, this is what my kids and I were doing..... Guess who's getting my vote!

The hats back hanging on the hook at the farm, waiting for me to come back! I've had that hat for over 10 years, looks it to. :thumbsup
My CA hat doesn't fit real well yet, I'll have to give it a few more years to break in.

It's going to be an extreme uphill battle. There are massive forces at work against the Republican ticket.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the difference in coverage, especially in the soft stories aimed at Grocery going Moms and people who aren't students of political process:

And which one of these people went to a hate-filled church that believes the white US Government created AIDS to kill the black man, launched his political career in the house of a violent radical, and has a wife who is proud to be an American for the first time in her life because her husband is running for President? I don't think Obama is the worst guy in the world, but the dichotomy in the coverage is stunning, from lame rags to CNN to everywhere in between. This is one fubar country when it comes to the politics of self-loathing.

And hey Rick, funny you should post those! I was doing the same thing this weekend, only in Detroit, without kids, surrounded by crackheads, attempting to stay alive after 60 years of Democratic rule! :lol

Time to clean up the city. Now with Kwamy gone, the road is yours -- or-- is Camilo within the city limits? Can you imagine -- GT parties at the Manoogian Mansion? Film at 11 - nope, parties don't start till after 11....

Only good news out of Detroit today is what occurred in a court room with your former mayor...... no further comment.

It is time for Detroit to make a comeback. Civic leaders and DOJ were driving this to the proper conclusion. We look forward to better days.
