All ZR1 deliveries are on hold until further notice. This was disclosed by the BG Museum in Kentucky to folks planning on picking up their ZR1s next week. No reason cited by GM. What is odd is that they cleared the invoices to the dealers, which tells me that it may not be a big deal. If you are anticipating a delivery, call in and verify.

Chevrolet put it on hold because it got Bitch Slapped at the "Ring" by the ACR and there trying to figure out how to put more power in it.

The real reason being floated is that there is a problem of some kind with the torque tube bolts.

Dave,

Okay I'll be the idiot and admit I'm clueless here. What is a torque tube bolt? I don't even know what a torque tube is. :confused Driveshaft?

Very nice. :cheers

Any one know if it holds up the 2009 CTS-V as well? I am patiently waiting.:bored

It's similiar to what the early 50's Chevys had, Chip. It's a solid, hollow tube that makes a solid connection between the engine & the tranny (which is located back aft as you know). The drive shaft is inside it.

I'm ASSUMING the tt bolts are what holds the 'tube in place at both ends.

(P.S. I think we all KNOW you're not an idiot, sir! :lol :cheers)

Just got the word from BG (indirectly) that one of the problems is an open exhaust solenoid not functioning properly. Apparently there are other issues plaguing the release.

The person that told me the torque tube bit wouldn't fib. They deal with P&M.

What's P&M Dave?

Pratt and miller.

You can buy a Z06 to hold you over while you wait. Employee Pricing Program in effect this weekend, AND IT APPLIES TO Z06's, so look forward to about $10K off MSRP...

Really?!!!!? :eek

That's never been the case B4. All 'Vettes have always been exempt from this kinda sales program. 'Just curious: where did you see/hear this, Randy???

(How'd ya like to be a guy who paid $15-$25K OVER sticker for a ZO6 back in 2006 right now?)

Never mind! 'Just checked with my local dealer. THEY ARE being sold at the discount price. Only catch is the car has to be "on the floor", or can be dealer traded off some other dealer's floor.

I'll be doggoned.

That shocks the heck outta me.

('Wish I were in the mkt for one! :lol)

Actually Larry, Reliable chevrolet has them for $12K off MSRP, even deeper than employee discount. Rumor has it the last count (not verified) was 2000 plus 2008 Z06 in inventory before the 09s rollout.

They have several Z06's on the lot with special offers on the windshield at the dealer I bought my previous Z06 from. When I bought my 02 the dealer gave 4k off without me even asking, as there were 15+ on the lot. I would imagine they would give a great discount for internet or phone buyers at this time (Les Stanford).

Just out of curiousity, I 'putted' over & looked at the one on the floor here locally. It's (ugh!) RED!!!:rofl:rofl:rofl

'Window sticker (w/o the ubiquitous $1,495 "adjusted market value" 2nd sticker) is $82 something. The employee promotion sticker is $70,888.

Now...they COULD dealer trade this'n fer a YELLER one...and, DANG!, I am sorely tempted! :willy However, unlike the FGT, the ZO6 WILL depreciate. So, that sorta keeps me 'grounded' a bit.

Still..........................:bang

And, you're sayin' that these things can & DO go for under that, Sam?:eek
