They included a photo of my Kirkham #KMP304 but no photo of my GT. AND.....they spelled my name correctly!!! I'm suprised most of the Ford GT's don't have an owners name listed.

Chip

I was also very surprised that very few names were listed for their respective FGT's.....what am I missing here?

SAAC GT Registry

Ed -

The reason some of the dealer codes appear in the appendix and some don't is that I ran out of time to decipher all of the codes. I got the information for the Registry from a variety of sources, and often the formats were incompatible or incomplete. Most of the 4-digit codes should have a dealer name in the Appendix. Codes that still show 5 or 6 digits, and an alpha character, are Ford internal dealer codes that I did not get converted.

Gino-

Two reasons there are not many owners names in the SAAC Registry :
1) for privacy reasons, Ford would not divulge the purchases's names; and
2) most of those who submitted info on their cars requested to have their name withheld from the Registry.

I hope you guys (meaning all of you FordGTForum folks) are pleased with the result. If you have any changes or updates to the info published in the SAAC Registry, please send an e-mail with the updates to me at: [email protected].

For ordering information, please see the SAAC website at:
http://www.saac.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=11&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=115&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=45&vmcchk=1&Itemid=45

I think I counted about 8 new GT's at SAAC 33 - and several of them were out there enjoying them on the track!

With the registry being a tried & true asset for the GT values in the future I also wonder why so many owners withheld names & info. Maybe some of those make up the 10% or so that have been wrecked. I have listed my name & car in the saac registry in the past with zero problems. Hopefully the next edition will have a better responce from GT owners. If you don't participate now, the day will come when you will wish you had. :thumbsup

I was at the SAAC convention on Saturday. It was really neat to see my GT and my Continuation Series 427 Cobra, CSX 4206 in the new Registry. I feel that my cars and the GTs themselves are now officially part of "Shelby history" and legendary heritage of their forefathers. It certainly adds to the mystic and experience of owning these cars. It adds to the uniqueness and exclusiveness the GT and without a doubt enhances the desirablity of these truly special cars. :thumbsup

I am also thrilled to see Shelby and SAAC bury the hatchet. :thumbsup

Very early on, I submitted a lot of info on '05 1857, and never requested to have my name or info withheld, however it ended up with just some dealer info and and nothing about the car. And, it's picture is on the next page with another Serial Number - :eek

Oh well - so much for spending all the money on the book. :ack:thumbsdow

I hope the records they keep of other registry items are more accurate.

I have heard from several folks that have addressed concerns about the NEW registry to Rick and he remains the charming sensitive guy that he has always been. The perfect example of customer service, fellowship and building long lasting relationships.
and... yes, I am a long time member of SAAC.

I don't plan to speak to charming Rick about it - as it obviously would not do any good. What's done, is done....

I'll stay a member of SAAC, but won't ever order another Registry....:frown

Ralphie -

My sincere aplology to you for not getting all of your information into the Registry. I know that you submitted additional info and a number of nice pictures of your car - I'm very sorry I didn't get it all in.

With regard to the picture of your car, it is very unfortunate that the text of your entry fell at the bottom of page 1415, and your car's picture appears at the top of page 1416. You're right, it's not clear that it is your car. I don't know exactly how the typesetting was done, but it appears SOME of the pictures are BEFORE the text, some in the middle, and some after - we SHOULD have maintained a more consistent format. I suspect the format changes were a result of trying to balance out pages instead of leaving blank spaces.

One of my fondest memories of SAAC 32 was hearing your GT roar in the parking lot at the hotel - I could distinctly make out that unique sound. I am sorry I dissappointed you.

regards,

Jeff Burgy

Jeff,

I sent you my information and a picture of my Tungsten GT, #079 a year ago. Did it make it into the registry?

Thanks

I just received my copy. All in all a great book. The article on the GTX1's has some very generous numbers of completed cars. I wonder how the story will read in the 5th edition. :wink

As stated in the book.... Per Mark Gerisch, 64 X1's and 30 SEMA editions. Maybe some of those are Hot Wheels.
