Where do you drive your GT besides the track?

Have a new NFGT on the way and curious where people like to drive them. Seems like the limited storage space poses a problem for weekend getaways even if it's close. Also, I'm uncomfortable parking is most anywhere without eyes on it. Can you share from your experience?

Drive to car shows, long trips to Forum events. No luggage problem if you're alone. Plenty of room on passenger side. I took out the footwell footrest so ByeEnzo would fit while we were at the Petit LeMans in Atlanta. At least in the Midwest, no one ever seems to molest the car. I usually let kids sit in it all the time for pics, but sometimes there is an overzealous mom who jumps in after. I do sit with it at all times during car shows. The best bs are the young tyros explaining the electric motor in the front

Car shows; run to grab takeout lunch; Sunday drives; lunch at your favorite sports bar with outdoor seating where you can park away from others and still keep it within eyesight; Rallies(!); joy rides to take family, friends, family of friends, and friends of friends(!); quick trip to Ace hardware to pickup a new chain for your Stihl pole saw :)

(this is my FGTs; don't have a NGT)

To add to extrap’s list:
I don’t have a New GT, but I feel the same way about my 2005. I don’t drive to downtown cities. Too many crazies, including other drivers, wokesters, and street lunatics. I haven’t had any problems in the suburbs or further out. I particularly like Applebee’s, and those are usually located where I can park close to one of the windows or door.

I have 10,000 miles on the ODO and never been on a track.

Events, car shows , weekend drives, Detroit to Atlanta PetiteLeMans and back,
Detroit to Norwalk Ohio drag races, (again this June) Woodward Ave, Ford GT forum rallies.
I too stay away from cities and “woke” areas.
Too many ?!!!@@ who think you don’t deserve the car and some how “lucked into it” and Did not work hard to get it.

Also be careful with bicycle gatherings when they come up close to the vehicle to look inside while still on their bikes.
Most people love to cars and want to talk about them.

I took my NGT on trips out of town but we had to have a chase vehicle to carry luggage. The hotels we stayed at were chosen for their safe parking.

Rgroden,

Peggy and I take it to restaurants where the valet staff let me self park in front and I pay them to watch over it while I'm having dinner. Lots of car shows, I usually drive the 2006 and she drives the 2017. And road rally events from Road Atlanta to Southern California. With any very expensive car you have to take a few risks to enjoy it. It is those experiences, not mere ownership, that will endear it to you and make your GT a joy. If you let it sit protected in a garage and seldom take it out because "I don't want to put any miles on it" the car will become a joyless and burdensome investment. That's my take on it.

Never forget the Kids! We have the ability to make a lasting experience with our Ford GT’s and the young people who might never experience standing next to a Super Car and have a picture taken with it! We Are Blessed To Have Been Chosen!

I picked my kid up at school a few weeks ago and took him on a quick drive afterwards. It was a lot of fun. I parked it down the street a ways where I felt it would be safe and wouldn't create too much of a spectacle. It made me pretty nervous though and I wanted to rush back and check on it ASAP. When I did there were about 5 people crowded around it, ooo'ing and ahhhh'ing and taking a ton of pictures. Kind of like a one-car car show! Super fun day.

Anywhere and everywhere that I can make sure when it's parked it is in a safe protected place. Not fun having cars that are garage queens. I love to drive my cars.

Now can you imagine the neighborhoods in Fort Worth that ByeEnzo delivers to? Each one in itself is a gated community.

If I remember correctly, that was available direct from Ford from a numbered set. Not sold for many years.

I’ll bet that the private gate guard doesn’t give him a hard time!

And he can call it a “business expense.”

Drove it to the Arizona Ford GT Rally and to all of the events. Was a blast!

About 1,400 miles or so in that trip alone. A good way to get to know a car is a road trip!

And get out in the community and share it and be an Ambassador for Ford and the rich history of the GTs. All good stuff.

You can pick a passenger or luggage on an extended road trip in the NFGT. But probably not both.

I gave thrill rides around a race track to raise money for the local car museum. Also Auctioned off an hour ride in a silent auction to support another museum. I’m also on the same page as Chip. Take the wife out for lots of sunset cruises and joy rides.

In the big picture it's a car. Meant to be driven. I usually try to avoid snow, ice and hail.
