Dave,

Speaking of that, when will we be able to see the finished video?

Chip

Hopefully in about a month.

glad to see the car being used for its intended purpose. you guys have done a great job being the early ambassadors for this car and the brand,

so who's installing NOS first ? :)

I'm expecting Torrie to offer a 800 HP "boost increase" tune, and I'll be the first to sign up :)

You'll be waiting awhile. It's one thing to increase the boost on a 5.4 liter engine by taking it up from 12.5 psi to 18 or so and gain 200+ HP. But this 3.5 liter engine starts with much more boost than that and its computer program uses many data inputs to determine how much boost can be safely used for how long. I suspect any increase above current limits will have negative effects on longevity. I suspect Ford already has optimized this package and didn't leave much if anything on the table for the tuners to exploit.

And still I wonder how much different is the standard GT engine from the 1000 HP Eco Boost race engine they use in the prototype. That thing gets hammered for 24 hours. I'll settle for 750 HP then ;-)

Hmmmm, I understood the Ford (IMSA) prototype V6 EcoBoost motor that Ganassi ran a few years back was in the 600 to 650 hp range.

101,

The 3.5 in those prototypes had nowhere near 1000 HP. Not even close. Where did you hear that? At Daytona in 2016 the techs told me the prototype only had 100 to 150 more HP than the GT's and even then the race cars had less HP than our street cars.

DP race cars were about 600. That thing can make well over that though. You can try and make big power with a stock long block in the GT road car but you're going to regret it.

Well - I must correct a little :)
I just remembered reading that the race engine was tested to 1000 HP.
True that is was restricted to 600 HP in race trim.

Article here: http://www.superstreetonline.com/features/news/1505-ford-ecoboost-twin-turbo-v6-exclusive-look/

We’ve run [unrestricted] dyno tests close to 1,000 hp. When we set the 223-mph speed record at Daytona, the V6 was making 800 hp. And we ran 10 miles at WOT.” They’ve also run more than 14,000 simulated miles at Daytona. But IMSA rules limit the engine to about 600 hp with the use of 33.2mm restrictor plates fitted before each turbo.

What have you done with your 2017 GT?

Cars and Coffee, Palm Beach 9/24/17. The event was packed... advertised as the biggest C&C in the country.

GT's were a big hit and kept Brian and I talking and showing all morning.

If I was able to get one ( which I didn’t get approved) it would of been in a lot of movies already Just finished shooting Oceans 8, director asked for one. BMW came thru with a museum piece of the 507. Matt Damon was the driver. Maybe next life time??? Still happy for all that got one!!!!

I keep pushing my 2 blue ones and my yellow one at least 180 mph around the table. Making all of the appropriate sounds too.

Been pretty lucky, no coyotes in the way. Butter dish took a direct hit. No damage at all.

Oh it's still a long wait until 8/1/18.

I knew that Ford made the right move to select our forum members to get the NGT in the public eye. All you guys are not disappointing them! I have lots of plans with my 2019 NGT for track time, car shows & just driving it everywhere.
