A friend of mine owns an original 289 Cobra "Dragonsnake" that has become a finalist in a Hemmings Motor News contest to name the "Muscle Machine of the Year" for 2011.
There are no Ford GTs in the running, so please take a moment to vote for Drew Serb's 289 Cobra in Hemmings' online poll.

I saw it on the Shelby forum. Great looking car. The Dragon Snake that was used in the Elvis movie is at the Shelby American Collection near Boulder, CO.

He got my vote. I'm envious of his garage.

Thanks, guys.

Gino - according to the latest SAAC Cobra Registry, there were only TWO original "factory" Dragonsnakes, CSX2019, and CSX2357.

CSX2019:

There were three more prepared by Shelby American for customers, and several more cars prepared and raced by independents.

It was really great to watch CSX2357 and CSX2248 (El Cid) face off on the tarmac at SAAC 35 at Infineon:

The old Cobras were really cool, but, as I recall, neither came close to the blistering runs posted by the GTs of our own "Fast Eddie" Sims or Mike Hermann.
