we got our kit in April, car delivery will be January. Many early orders, ordered long before they got the kit.

Great post Andy, Wish I could have gone with you. I will be checking out Paint jobs tomorrow.
Mine got pushed back a year so Early Spring 2019 feels like forever. Maybe it will have the new hybrid power by then :)

I was told that I was approved, but never informed of my VIN
and a month ago I was told that it would be mid-2018
before I would be contacted by my individual Ford GT
team contact.
I wonder under my circumstances if a VIN has been assigned to me.

You will not be serialized until at the soonest, your order is finalized, and moving through the process. Your concierge will reach out when your order window opens.
 
Can you request a certain number for your VIN? Strikes me they work to accommodate when and where possible, though perhaps not guaranteed.
 
They let you ask, but unless you are VIP, I'm guessing that the accommodation is too challenging to fulfill. For Instance, it was posted recently that Lagano got 22 (his racing number I guess?), and Leno got the VIN that matches his 05.

Gurney and family have already secured 0067.

I wish to thank everybody for their responses to my inquiry.
I enjoy monitoring the forum dealing with the new GT.
The pictures are excellent and show all the exterior and interior
options available.
