Cool car... I would like to see the speed pull. You don't get any sense of how long it took the car to crawl past two hundred.

And two sets of tires

The road the speed runs are on doesn't look like anything "south of the border", that is, unless you're talking about the AZ-Utah border, and they're definitely WAY south of that! I suspect the border comment is just a red herring.

He's pulled over by the AZ DPS officer in a different area, probably on his way home. My best guess from the mountains is I-10 near Casa Grande. The stop probably had nothing to do with the speed runs.

Lucky there were no pelicans nearby...........

I seem to recall that this took place near Williams.

Um, looks like what I think is called the "Beeline Highway" that goes from Scottsdale to Payson. It's 2 x 2 lanes for quite a ways. It doesn't look like a freeway. Could also be on the highway that goes out to Apache Junction. Chip might recognize it as my memory locator for the landmarks is 30 years old...

Edit: Beeline Highway

Well, at least this fool pulled his stunt during the day instead of at night like the bozo with the Merci did (on the San Tan).

Car looks a whole let better from the inside than the outside.

What damage would hitting a jack rabbit at 225 be? :ack

No saguaro cactus that far north - they're found only in southern Arizona and northern Mexico.

Mountains along the Beeline don't look like the ones in the video, and it's definitely not near Apache Junction.

It was Interstate 8, south of Casa Grande. http://www.azfamily.com/news/DPS-not-pleased-with-Bugatti-driver-going-225-mph-on-I-8-139095304.html

He got back on I-10 on the way home and was stopped on on the section of highway that goes straight north for a few miles - I'm very familiar with that area from my farming days.

Expensive...

The Interstate 8 runs were in 2009, but the video wasn't posted until a few days ago. http://www.worldcarfans.com/112021141029/bugatti-veyron-cruising-at-225mph-on-public-roads-video

OK, I'll say it, whoever thought up that stunt is dumber than a rock. He took all the precautions...except those random, can't be anticipated, incidents which could cause a fatal accident.

You guys have a lot of Anger issues. How did we get from an Ugly car to.....

This is why I hate the political bullshit. It ruins pretty much every topic.

"Hey look, a $2 million car going 230 mph" turns into a bitchfest about federal bird laws and mexican immigrants. It's beyond stupid.

The Veyron is still no where near as impressive as this GT below posted a while ago on the forum
