Where are you getting your info Sam??? All the tires were replaced on our veyron here in the states at an authorized Bugatti dealer for under $14k. They don't have to be sent to France. Don't believe everything you read/hear. People are bad about talking out of their rear end. The haters like to inflate the numbers/prices.
Also, the DMC was nothing more than a large hunk of scrap metal sculpted into what appeared to be a sports car, but if you watch the documentary on it, it was a thrown together piece of junk. Does not compare to the veyron in the least bit in any way. Well, both cars did have 4 wheels, so I guess they got that in common...

I don't think he would fabricate erroneous data... Buyer Beware...
A colleague of mine in the Emirates told me that within the elites with serious $$$ it is said; "That owning a Veyron is like treating cancer, there is no end to its costs... At least with the Enzo, the costs are defined and its place in history is guaranteed. The Veyron's is not determined".
How can you say Buyer Beware and take the word of a magazine editor over the word of someone that has actually engaged in the process? :lol
It shouldn't be surprising that C&D, MT and every other car rag is frequently filled with erroneous information. This is the same Car and Driver that claimed the Ford GT was an absolute disaster that pissed all it's owners off including Jay Leno, until Jay Leno wrote a letter saying "uh, where you'd get that tidbit from?"

If one eliminated the first sentence entirely, and the references to "Bugatti" in that quote, and substituted 22 mpg for the 11 mpg mentioned, one could EASILY conclude the FGT was the subject of that paragraph!
Regardless of the actual SPECIFICS involving a Veyron's recomended/required maintenance/operating costs - THEY ARE NUTS relative to any other car on the planet. Not much question about that.
Just as an aside - speaking of morbid prices: I went into my local (brace yourselves) Chevy dealer this past Wednesday to find out what it would cost to order up a spare 5-spoke wheel (extra cost factory option wheel) for my S-10. SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS!!!!!!! E-A-C-H!!!!!!! And that's WITHOUT the center cap & faux plastic lug nut covers!!!!! 'For a lil' ol' CHEVY wheel!!!! :eek :willy:willy:willy
Needless to say I'm noooooooo longer interested. :lol

That is my understanding. I talked to the So Cal Bugatti dealer recently, and they told me that they can change the tires locally as well. Much of what you read in magazines about the Veyron is to pump up the "outrageous mystique" of the car. It is expensive to work on no doubt, but not quite to the extent published for wow factor and selling magazines.
Hmm. Who to believe.....? The guy thats the 2nd Bugatti sitting on his show room floor or the Magazine that gets things wrong in just about every issue. I am not trying to argue with you to sell the car Sam as whoever buys the car I highly doubt is doing his research on the FORD GT FORUM. I am just simply correcting the incorrect quotes located all throughout this thread. About the only reason the car would need to go back to France for anything would be if one were to drive it into a lake......... :eek

Curious though, after purchasing both Veyron's why did the original owners sell them?

Same reason any person sells me any of these cars I have. 9 times out of 10 the customer has just gotten tired of their current ride and is ready to move to the next. Actually, my current one was sold because the previous owner was a VICTOM of one of the bigger Ponzi Scemes (not Madolf). He didnt loose everything, but lost enough he figured he needed to get rid of some of the more expensive things he didnt HAVE to have.....

That sucks...sad to see somone conned out of money they worked hard for but i guess you always gotta do your due diligence. I used to see a black/blue bugatti in miami alot if its the same car, im sure we all know who the scammer was...
I don't understand the logic and I know a couple of people with sickening wealth. A $2M car sells for half in less than 2 years is not logical. No one I know throws a Million dollar away because they changed their mind...But hey they must exist... what do I know...
Sam, it all depends on the Level of income a person has. If you make $100 million a year, its not as important than it would be to a person that makes $1 Million a year. Its all relative. I have friends that tell me I am insaine to own a $10k Rolex Daytona. They say their Fossil Watch does the same thing and its only $90.
Same goes for cars. You can buy a Toyota 4 Runner and drive it for 3 years and probably only lose $15k, OR you can buy a $100k Range Rover Supercharged, drive it for 3 years and lose $60K. There are different levels to every game. Just depends which level you are playing at. I have seen pics of your house Sam. You should understand this if anybody

My point is the wealthier people are, the stingier they become. A Million $ is a big chunk of change unless you're a congressman. As far as me goes, a $100 bill still gets me excited.
Also, where did you get 2 Million and where did you come up with a year? The Regular Veyron sells for 1.4 million. The one I have is an 08. Came out in 07. We are in mid 2010. Its now 3 years old. The last one I had was an 06. It sold for $1.1
Thats a $300k depreciation which is LESS THAN 25% over a 4 year span.

When they first came on the scene they fetched the $2M mark way above the MSRP... Now they sell for under $1M and hence my logical 50% loss.... If someone bought an Enzo at the same time frame, they could arguably sell it today for the same amount and perhaps a tick above.
An Enzo will be in my garage someday..Its destiny... If I won a Veyron in a raffle, I would sell it and get an Enzo....
BTW, the Enzo is the only other car other than a GT I would own two of, but then my wife would not be too happy.

Talking about people paying OVER msrp is not really relevant in my opinion. There are always people that will pay OVER MSRP to be the first. Fact is, the MSRP was actually a little under $1.4 Million. Not sure where you are getting the info that they are selling less than 1 Million. Mine is the ONLY one I know of advertised anywhere for under a Million and thats because of the higher miles (6k+). Low mile cars are still bringing well over a million. We can guess all day long, but we might as well just wait until production stops and new inventory is gone and see what they do. I will not argue the fact though that the Enzo has faired very well. It was ahead of its time and still looks good today. No arguement there.
