Will I break halfshaft bolts w 710 hp & P Zeros? Looking for good price on trans cooler setup, mats? seat buttons?

realjohn,

We sell a Ford GT custom transaxle cooler (the heart of which is a Setrab heat exchanger.) Many people here use our cooler and you can read about it here: Cool Tech Cooler

Regarding the transaxle bolt failure. These were defective bolts and have the potential to break regardless of HP. (HP, quite frankly is not the load that breaks them.) The bottomline is that you need to install either the latest Ford kit or the Accufab kit if you haven't done so - and then you will be fine.

Kendall’s trans cooler is VERY well done "Aeroquip" style braided lines, kit looks great. The alternative is the Ford unit, which used compression and rubber lines. Only advantage to the ford is the OEM look.

Seat buttons come from Exoticare.

how do I tell for sure if my axle bolts have or have not been replaced? W regard to your responses thankyou! I personally would prefer NOT to have the OEM look and go with a better cooler and Aeroquip obviously is nicer than rubber (LOL). Specracer, do yoiu know anyone who has the "Kendall" cooler setup available for the GT?

Read nota4re's post and click on the link provided for the cooler. As for the axle bolts check with your Ford dealer or their are tons of good posts about them just search "halfshaft bolts" or take a look at them and post what you see. You'll know at least if they are oem (grey allen head) bolts or accufab (black 12point head) replacements.

Go to Kendall's thread (nota4re)) and click on his website www.cooltechllc.com where you can contact him.

Another big supporter of all three..... Kendall, his Cooltech unit, and the Accufab bolt kit.

Where are you located ? You should def consider getting your car to Kendall for this.....and possibly some other mods too ??

I agree with FutureGT. I have had mine dialed in with some of the COOLTECH mods. If you are anywhere in SoCal you should arrange with them to get your car done up. If you are far then you may need to find a way to get your car there or find a closer specialist through the Forum by joining.

BTW nice pic FutureGT Bronco Billy returns home soon?

You could call your dealer to see if the OEM upgrade kit was done by a dealer. Also look at the 6 bolts that attach the half shaft to the transaxle flange. At the factory when torqued, the assembler would use a paint pen to document that torque was done. Look to see if this has been disturbed. Also if the prior owner had an Accufab kit installed, the heads of these fasteners will be 12 point, vs hex, if I recall correctly.

As noted Kendall sells the trans cooler kit. Here is the exact link:
