Track Time

Surprised the nose got a lot of debris on it, but then you drive with guys that are driving a lot harder/closer than we do...

Your son with you? Camera mount held on the slippery surface?

Awesome pics!

Had to be the best looking (performing too) car, on the (or at) track!!!!

Yes, Took my son for a ride in the 2nd session.

I use the RAM mounts -- never had an issue on any of my Track cars. Used a second one on the bulkhead glass for the interior camera and a third for the AIM data display on the front windshield.

We heard directly from the Admiral that Nick was probably running too much tire pressure causing the tires to be very greasy... the Admiral said they would get the word out through the concierge or through the program ..the correct hot tire pressure...

Likely 31-33psi. PSC2's on the 350R like 36-38 for best performance. Looking at the data after the event, My best times in the GT were early each session when pressures were 32-34.

Raj told us at the movie night.. 28 PSI hot.. I'm pretty sure Indy was right there when he told us.... I'm sending you a p.m. regarding the harnesses.

Very cool video & photos! Looks like fun.

32 hot is a good starting target. Obviously depends on conditions. Track only!

^^^Does this guy know what he's talking about? (LOL). Wow, what a forum!

Stormcat, be sure to use your silver sharpe to write the suggested tire pressures on the sidewalls. [emoji23] (I'm sure Raj would love to sign them too!)

How loud is it? I did a track day at Laguna Seca on Monday in my 2017 Shelby GT350 and I was ejected from the track for exceeding the 90db limit 3 times. I tried every setting but that Mustang is LOUD.

It's loud under WOT. You're not getting away with it at Laguna.

Good Idea ... :bored

I could have saved you the grief. No stock sports car will pass 90 at Laguna. Vettes, Vipers, Camaros, P-cars, F-cars, etc will not pass even under the ideal atmospheric conditions. The ambient noise at the track entrance is over 90 just from the 2-lane traffic. 92 db track days are a better bet or keep your eyes out for that rare open sound day which is what I did a few years ago to drive my GT (I was 106.5 at the uphill straight sound meter between 5 & 6). I can't wait to take the NGT to Laguna!

My guess is it will pass 92dB but not 90dB. My GT350R failed 92dB, registering 94-95dB depending on track location at Mont Tremblant. With the exhaust valves open, the R is noisier externally than the New GT. With the valves closed it's closer and the R passed 92dB sound with valves closed.

The GT350 opens the valve at WOT. You have to be in quiet mode and part throttle from T5 to T6 to pass sound.

I doubt the GT will pass sound at WOT.

To pass sound in the R at 92dB you have to disconnect the valves (one pigtail each side) The valves then stay closed at WOT, the downside is you cannot select Track mode, only Sport Damper and Steering settings, and obviously you're down on power. But at least you can run 92dB tracks at WOT....
