There will be a titanium exhaust option on the new GT. Pretty cool. Haven't heard of any other production cars offering this. How many of you will opt for this? :)

How did you find out this is an option?

I am a sales manager at Pat Milliken Ford. :) We have 2 customers that are getting their GT's here.

I don't think much of the exhaust will ever be visible without removal of many panels so I am going steel. Unless it is a 25+ lb weight savings I will pass. I'll spend it on the CF package!

Ah right. So what you're really saying is you have a list of options that aren't published yet, or have I missed that list?

I would expect serious weight savings.

Has anyone seen the new Valentino Balboni exhausts for Lamborghini ? Pure engineering porn ...

That is the only major option that I am aware of. Just thought it was kind of a cool option.

According to their press material, it takes 350 hours to manufacture one exhaust. That must include; raw material procurement, fabrication, assembly onto car and drive time - WOW!

Titanium exhaust with adjustable flaps would be great for the 05-06 GT as well.

The borla steel exhaust was 40-50 lbs weight saving over the stock '05 GT. That all came from design change. No matter what system Ford offers it will have to me all the legal restrictions for Califoolina. : / But I do agree that it is cool to see Ford offer the option.

Can probably make a nice, lightweight stainless, inconel, or Ti one for less...

Ford looking at every possible place to get the weight down to the magic 2800 pds! Makes sense to look at saving weight in the exhaust! As stated above easy weight savings in 05-06 GT with exhaust change. And using titanium Wow!!

I'd be happy if it was just lighter than a 650S (~3,200lbs)

Prescribe something to make it pass. A high in fiber diet might assist, or - could just be water retention.
