Just wanted to know your thoughts. I have a 6 spd 04" Lamborghini Murci and I am thinking about trading it in for a FGT.
What are the +'s and -'s? If any of you have ever driven both please chime in.
Performance, looks, practicality, other peoples impressions, etc...
thanks :confused

I may take that trade..... send pics and info to lhartley (at) cfl.rr.com

:frown nobody has any comments on this???

The site is kinda slow today.
I have no experience with the Murci, so I will not comment. Either way, you will have an awesome car.

My buddy has one, and I've driven both. The Murci is prettier, and draws more attention (crazy colors and scissor doors), but I give it to the GT in just about every other category. Much more fun to drive. The Murci feels like a heavy pig compared to the GT.

Sold my lambo fo the GT!

I had a Countach not a Merci for 5 years. I can only tell you that I was never happy about taking the car in for services since they wring you out to dry for routine things. The visibility is great for the GT and the clutch, shifting, and steering is very easy. I drive the car every day. If you would like to have a great daily driver than buy the GT and kiss the Lambo problems goodbye! It is real fast! Even the Lambo Dealer in Orange County will not give you a warranty when selling a used Merci. What does that tell you about their confidence on the cars!

I call my GT the Blue collar exotic. Unbeliveable value in this market. It easy to drive, easy to maintain. Alot of people are doing there own work on certain areas and having fun with the cars. The styling is timeless , It's the real deal . It is " The One "....

Sounds like the Murci has the look and the GT has just about everything else.
thanks bros.

I've got a Murcie (which I totally adore)...and a 997 Carrera 4S for everyday use (which isn't "special" enough) - I was going to have 997TT later this month - but after I drove it I couldn't go ahead with it - it's just too boring!

So my plan is to replace the C4S with a Ford GT - and use the Ford GT for everyday use! I will still have the Murcie for weekends but the GT will be my daily driver!

I think the Murcie is a fantastic car - it's as much about the "event" of it, the look, the sound, the engine, but it does have it's limitations.

My concern is that the GT will take so much away from the lambo that it (the Murcie) ends up becoming redundant and I end up selling it!

I couldn't disagree more! The visibility is TERRIBLE in a GT! It's as bad as or worse than the Murci! The A pillars suck, backing up is a leap of faith, and so is changing lanes!

I don't get the changing lanes thing. Alot of people say that, but as long as you look in your mirror and glance over your shoulder, I don't see what the big deal is.

Having the Murcielago (also a 6 speed), a Gallardo (also a 6 speed) and the GT I can share that the GT is a true driver's car with looks and power to back it. The Murcielago albeit VERY cool is not an apples to apples comparsion.

With the 07 Murc having a few styling tweaks and a bit more power helps it keep pace and yet you will never get the same feed back as the driver from the Murc's AWD versus the GT's brute power to her ass.

Regardless enjoy your gals; to a one they are special.

All the best

You're right Dave. I think that some drivers have their mirrors set at the wrong angle. If you can see your own fender in your side mirror, you need to move the angle further out. If your mirrors are set right, you really don't need to look over your shoulder (but some do out of force of habit).

As for the Murcie 'looking better' - a matter of opinion to be sure, but no doubt in mind the GT looks better now and certainly will look better than the Lambo in coming years. It's a classic!

You won't stop driving the GT.

Visibility of the GT

I was comparing the Lamborghini Countach to the Ford GT visibilty. The Countach is claustrophobic with very poor visibility compared to the Ford GT. The GT is like a convertible in my opinion compared to the Countach. I couldnt even pull out in traffic some times since you couldnt see on coming traffic because of the size of the passenger window!

That's always my problem with Lamborghinis. They don't age well. I was never a fan of the Countach, and they look even more ridiculous to me now. Same goes for early Diablos. I think the Murcielago and the Gallardo are way less susceptible to that though, as they are designed in a much more cohesive style. I'd love to have either one of those cars.

You won't be giving up much, because I think most people will agree the Murci is definately not better looking, much worse looking in my opinion
and performance wise it is an inferior car. I would say definately trade it in and get an instant classic and awesome car!

now i dont know about all that jamie.

Well I guess they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder? Like I think Scarlett Johanson is Awesome! But I don't think that much of Jennifer Anniston, so I guess its a matter of opinion with the GT and Lambo. As far as performance on the track or street that is undisputeable, the GT wins hands down! As I behold the Lambo I think the Gallardo is 10 times better looking car than the Murci IMO.
