Joey, write the check!!!!!:thumbsup:wink:bow

If you are doing fractional ownership, I'm in for $1,000. You could let me just sit in it for 30 seconds every year.

WOW!!! that is just sex on wheels right there :bow

and the last GT40 ever made in 1969 to boot :usa

i would take this car over any car i have ever seen roll across the stage at Barrett-Jackson :thumbsup

Was it around $40,000 new in the 1960s?

Both of those are amazing. Cobras, Coupes, GT40's. Gotta love American Muscle.

If you stare at those megaphones long enough, you'll end up going cross eyed.

My father purchased the GT40 pictured in my avatar #P1060 new from CS in 1968 for a little over $10,000. As I recall it was built in 1966.

How about I give him a call, get it down to around 1.8.....do some gtjoey magic and we all chip in.......I will get the real details from the king of all gt40's today in our group....Don knows every car in and out......
GTJOEY..........P.S. Im going AMERICAN PICKERS NEXT WEEK WITH HOWIE , from Lucas Ford........Ithink if this barn find works out everyone here will be happy............get ready, this is going to be neater than, autoweek........

Update, both cars are the real deal...the earlier car had fire damage and completely restored with more race history......the 69 was the last and really has no big racing history, its squeeky clean......remember these are NOT road car versions but race ready, heavier springs, shocks and more power to the motor.............
So ,I think 1.8 is about the number......
BUT, Might be working on a MARK 1 just uncovered, you know , wire wheels with knock offs, small block, all paper work....anyone game on that....call me gtjoey1314

Sick car - in some ways even more beautiful than our GT's!

God, what could be neater than the Autoweek article or based less in fact ? I got it! American Pickers.

I purchased my GT through Fantasy Junction in '07. It was a little less than $2.6 mil.

I was a guest of George Stauffers a couple years ago and George gave us a tour of his car collection. At that time he had the original GT40 that won LeMans (#2, black). It was an honor to just touch it. We then headed over to his house where he showed us us his collection of tanks and tracked vehicles that he kept in a barn at his house.

All this hidden away in rural Wisconsin.
