The Price of XPEL

I like the stealth wraps

Stealth means matte?

Yes. Stealth gives a cool matte finish to regular paint.

Seems most are wrapping the full car…any of you just do the full front (hood, fenders, mirrors,)?

Indeed, whole car. Less worry that way.

I did the front, front fenders, trunk lid, and top of the car only. I also use the Stillen mud guards to keep stuff from getting thrown up on the sides. The leading edges of the side scoops still get nicked up pretty thoroughly.

Rich Brooks of The GT Garage in Detroit had Paint Protection Film ("PPF") applied to my '05 like this:

Just do the whole car and put yourself out of misery!!
You can’t go wrong

I’d vote for doing it as Rich Brooks suggested (or similar) for the following reasons;

1) That’s the a area most likely to get nicked
2) it has to be replaced every 5-7 years, maybe more often.
3) I for one don’t love the way Xpel shows every time you even gently touch it with a microfiber towel….until it has time to "heal" in the sun.

I would do the windshield tho.

If you find someplace to do Clearplex on the windshield, please let everyone know.

I had a shop in Scottsdale wrap the entire front end years ago (hood/fenders/rockers) but regret not doing the whole car. I haven't had chip issues but peace of mind and ease of cleaning makes total sense. If you climate control garage it, I'd bet getting 8-10 years is easily doable.

I also wrapped every marble countertop in my house myself over the past couple months in Xpel Stealth and it came out excellent.

+10 on getting the windshield covered.

I had a new windshield installed and covered 4 years ago, so I don't know who in my area does it now. There are several vendors, not just Clearplex. When first applied, it has some minor optical distortion, but after a couple weeks it flattens out and the remaining water left from the squeegee application dries out and it flattens down so that you don't notice it unless you really look for it.
