The OEM Clamshell Vent Saga

By now, there is knowledge the clamshell vents warp, and that there are a few potential options. At this time, you can either get plastic ones from the dealer or pe2unia has a cool set of custom billet ones that are currently being delivered.

Well, I have now seen the OEM vents that pe2unia has had made, and these billet pieces are stunning. Upon reflection, it's hard to justify laying out the $30k required for the tooling for $750 a piece cast pieces when he is somehow getting these produced for $850 a pair. I'm not kidding, but there is no way I could get those pieces quoted at that price locally. That in mind, I am recommending that we immediately move on these billet sets.

I wonder if all Rally IV attendees would be in for a set. It is not if these parts warp it is when. I'm on my 2nd set of both and my final warranty set is on the way.

Hey Dave, I will need to come off of the list for now as I am having billet OEM vents being machined as we speak and I should post pics by the end of next week:thumbsup Our machinist had some down time due to waiting for tooling & stock to come in for the billet side vents so we decided to make some OEM billet vents as the machines were still set up from the custom vents and it was an easy transition because the bulk of the setup work was already done. I would love to see the final product though and I may change my mind. :cheers
