The Gun Thread

actually I think that its kind of expected that if you have a high dollar car or so in the garage you have some artillery to defend it.

on the other note.... there are over 5000 websites for gun owners that talk about the collection that they have. The internet is full of porn, gambling, car sites, gun sites and other various non-basket weaving sites. Its part of what makes it all a free for all.

Who cares? They're legal and locked in a safe. It's not like a Ferrari. You can get a gun cheap on the street, and people that are going to use weapons for no good usually buy them there.

Legal today... history has a bad habit of repeating itself.
Each to his own. My position has been clearly stated.

Oh they are stayin legal buddy. Don't you worry about that.

past the constitutional right to bear arms .... any society that lets its government disarm them is frankly ... on its way down. Was it not Thomas Paine who said "The tree of liberty must from time to time be nourished by the blood of patriots as well as the blood of tyrants." also from a man that I just visited in his grave a few short months ago. “The highest obligation and privilege of citizenship is that of bearing arms”. General George Patton—US Army

I have said my piece on that one.

Guns for Fubar are like hammers for a contractor, just tools of the trade. I'm with Bony on this one.

Patton said a lot of things that may have been correct, but never the less still got him in a lot of trouble with superiors and the civilian leadership.

That is correct, when I move to NV I will change my tune, but as they say when in CA do as the Kalifornian do! MI has great CCW laws too. Not a chance in CA.

That's for darn sure! I can't wait to get out. I have to store all my good stuff in Nevada. :biggrin

It was unfortunate that he died from injuries sustained in a car accident. Korea would have been a much different war had Patton been alive and the US Tank Corps would have been much much different also. Most people do not know that a majority of the tactics used by the US Army Tank Corps in WW2 where drawn up by Patton in the 1920-30's in his off duty time as the brass thought that there was not a need.

but at the end of the day history proved him correct more often than not. thats the price of being a visionary ... often beaten up by people around you for being crazy, eccentric, or just a pain in the @ss. :ack:ack:ack:lol:lol:lol

Now back to guns .... they are part of our heritage and I stand by his statement. obligation and duty.

I agree .... but then Barnum also owned a HUGE gun collection. :thumbsup

... What ever happened to ex post facto laws being invalid...?

ICEman, ICEman, ICEman ... when 'ya gunna learn? The law IS whatever the government SAYS it is.

(How else do you suppose the "Supremes" decided that eminent domain can be used to grab private property for PRIVATE developments that'll provide more tax $$$$ to said gov't? I guess for over 200 years, all PRIOR 'courts had it all wrong, huh.)

you'll never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people.

I guess that migrated from the white house and congress over to the supreme court now.

insert thomas paine here. :bored:bored:biggrin:biggrin
