Got my notice letter last week for So California

Just got my letter. Driver's side only, which is all I got last time as well

Randy, is that the cf console you won?

Just received mine.
Driver side only.
Car has always be located in CA Central Valley (very dry climate)
Bob

Called my dealer on Thursday, they had the parts Monday, took it in on Tuesday for both bags. Had the oil and transaxle fluid changed at the same time. Just had to advise them on how to top off the transaxle fluid because I had a cooler installed and they weren't familiar with that. I went over the car with a fine toothed comb afterwards and couldn't find a scratch, drop of oil or fingerprint anywhere. Getting the parts wasn't an issue.

Yes, that's the one courtesy of The Ford GT Forum and Kip Ewing. Best thing I ever won in my entire life. Right up there with winning my wife's hand in marriage.

Schedule set for Wednesday for driver side.

Ed what dealer are you taking are your the car to?

Now that so many are receiving the notices and the airbags are available, is there a permanent fix / replacement for the delaminating horn buttons at the same time???

Not from Ford, but ShelbyElite does them. horn button stayed good for about 8 years then poof it was bad. I called him and he gave me instructions on how to remove the airbag (easy) and ship it all to them. Now that I have seen how the actuator comes out I would be tempted to remove it before shipping to Shelby. Lots of folks here on the Forum have had that done.

On the chart that I saw for a couple seconds (at the dealer) for passenger side notifications, it looked like CA is a priority notification state, so I was thinking that heat might play a factor also, even though it is reasonably dry.

Although oddly, it appeared that Arizona and New Mexico were not highest priority states.

Has there been additional information as to what environmental factors lead to potential failure of the actuators?

Humidity, Randy. Thus Texas and Florida one of the first to get the passenger side.

Air bag actuators

I had mine done last week. The new driver's side actuator looks distinctly different to the original one. The old actuator (the yellow one) did not seem to have any corrosion at all, and could have been new for all I could tell.

Walnut Creek. Have you done yours? If so, where?

Ed what dealer are you taking are your the car to?

Just had my driver's side done again this week. I had requested the same mechanic that did both actuators a year and a half ago. Very simple process for the driver's side. Paperwork took longer than the replacement. It's the exact same part they are using in the 2007-2012 Mustang GT500's recall the service manager said.

Mine was done, drivers side only, this week. 15 minutes.

And they didn't ask for my Birth Certificate, Proof of ownership, first born, death certificate, etc.

Had 5 bags done today at my home through my local Ford Dealer who sent a tech up with the tools and parts. Looked pretty easy to me.
Some before and after pics.

For anyone in Delaware, Porter Ford in Newark, DE preformed the recall on my driver's side yesterday. Took all of 20 minutes, including paperwork. The Tech's name is Luis... he has done some other basic stuff on my GT. Luis is quite knowledgeable about the FGT. Everyone at Porter is always extremely careful with my GT. They won't even put the car outside when service is completed.

They told me that the passenger side is not yet available.

Did the Gt and the 2012 Boss302 at the same time a few days ago. Driver's side only for both. Same part number for both.
Documentation for the GT was more demanding.
They also had a low mileage Tungsten GT what was entering its second week there with problems associated with sitting. Everything was still original on the car.
