Dine at the hotel, Goleta is the closest town, not much there. Take the horse back riding on the beach option offered by the hotel. You will see the largest collection of Monarch Butterflies in a grove near the hotel. You can take a nice drive up the canone to Solvang for a Sat afternoon run.

Jeff,

Don't pay any attention to those guys. They're just jealous because you're so handsome.

This product does not work with your 2005 Ford GT

Didn't think there'd be any way in hell with half the roof opening when you open the door, but I had to see that I was correct, and the above is the message that appears when you plug in the model and year, but you knew that didn't you?

I have a morbid sense of humor...

I am probably disclosing more than i should, but.............last time i took a long trip with my sweetheart in the GT, we solved the packing problem by staying at a clothing optional resort in Palm Springs. (seriously).

I discussed this before. The metal seat buttons left a mark on my left nut... Never again will I drive my GT naked on a hot day....

Bacara is in Goleta which is about 10 miles north of Santa Barbara. it is a very nice resort right near the ocean. but there is virtually nothing in Goleta -- no restaurants, no shopping.

as for Santa Barbara restaurant recommendations, try Holdren's Steak House on State Street, the Palace on Cota Street (just off State & Cota) very good cajun food), and Cafe Luck (next door to the Palace on Cota). State Street is a fun place to walk around & shop. Lots of homeless people, though.

a GREAT restaurant that is in Carpinteria (15 miles south of Santa Barbara) is Sly's. highly recommend it......great (affordable) wine list, great food.

Hello Tmctguer

The Palace sounds great, we love Cajun Food, how is the parking steep driveway and is there a place to park it myself?

Hello Atomic GT

Thannks for the info, we plan to dine at the hotel Friday night, Staturday we might go out to eat. The horse back riding is a awesome idea, I am going to see if we can do that! Monarch bufffies in a grove near the hotel means we should take stoll of the grounds, sounds great too!

Thanks again.

There is no street parking to speak of. The is a public parking lot just behind Palace on the street running parallel to State Street. I would take a cab from Bacara to State Street to eliminate the risk of damage.

By the way, the area around Los Olivos and Solvang is very scenic and would be a nice place for a drive in the GT. Not curvy and windy, but very scenic rolling hills and wineries.

Thanks Hilo. See ya in a few weeks. No more picture taking at the crosswalks this year.

Good idea. I think I exhausted my Traffic School Attendence limit.
