Hi guys had a great conversation with Mike form Sparco USA yesterday as well as Fred from Sparco Europe.
They have 2 great kits available.
NOTE these kits are only available for the first/original buyer of the 2017 Ford GT.
There is the Track Kit with name and flag and the VIN Kit which has the VIN embroidery.
Kits include, driving shoes, driving gloves, race suit (made to measure), Same as the driving team uses. and CF helmet.
The Track Kit has the larger duffle style bag and the VIN Kit has the preformed trunk bag that is for the trunk of the GTs. As of now you CANNOT order the preformed bag for the trunk on its own or as part of the the track kit,
I have asked that there be an option to pick either bag or at least be able to purchase the molded bag separately. I hope that Sparco can get this approved through Ford, who has the final say.
Not cheap but a very cool addition to the ownership experience.
Mine is on order shortly.

...there is also added info / pics on these SPARCO items in the Thread regarding the ''SAE Ford GT Supercar'' event at Cobo hall in Detroit early this month
and some pics of the attachments for the harness in NJS 's thread regarding "First Drives of his car".
fun stuff...

Price for the kjt? You know, so when I get that 4th year allocation it gets baked into my final budget!

Angelo,
What is the SFI rating on the suit and gloves- I need SFI spec 3.2A/5 (multi-layer) jacket and pants, and SFI Spec 3.3/1 gloves if I want to use it in my CJ.
Can we get a Canadian flag to reflect the country of origin for the GT?

VIN Kit is 6500 and Track Kit is 7500

NJGT yes we can get the flag of choice. The other products say FIA approved. I will have to ask to get exact rating.

Hi Andy wasn't trying to hijack but couldn't find the thread about this. All good info for everyone just the same. Probably best to have it all in one spot anyways.
Yes, correct, there is the harness kit in the 3 colours but no pricing or other info yet that I was able to get.

NJ talked to Sparco and was advised the FIA rating for the suit qualifies for 95% plus of the tracks for the SFI rating unless its Nascar. So that shouldn't be an issue.
The gloves and shoes have the SFI rating of 3.3/5
The FIA homologation # 8856-2000 if that helps in any way.
Hope this helps.

I love Miller Motorsports in Utah. Helmet yes. Shorts ok. T-shirt no problem! Sound - unlimited!

06Fordgt.... No issues with the thread being hi-jacked..not my intent... the more information we are all provided the better...
thank you.
(just wanted to point out the added information on other threads ...and the fact that the race suit is actually being modeled by a professional race car driver while he sits and sips a latte !!

Maybe you guys can get one for the Stig?

Does anyone else think that price is expensive?

In this case having the opportunity to overpay? is priceless

No not really. You get top notch racing gear from a top notch company with top notch Ford branding. Try to assemble this stuff on your own with all of the Ford info labels. Sure you can find lesser stuff cheaper or from other vendors, but to duplicate this on an individual basis would be even more expensive. This is not an offer that can be duplicated after the fact.

Pretty spendy for something that I'd set on a shelf.

Me wearing full Ford Racing regalia to a track day would be like me wearing full football gear to an NFL game. Put me in coach!

No not really.

+1. You'd generally pay $2 to $5k for a Stilo carbon fiber helmet. A Stand 21 custom race suit is in the $2 to $3k range. Add embroidery. Shoes and gloves are a few hundred more, as is the bag. It is pretty much market price. Expensive if it's just memorabilia but (like anything else), if you're going to use it, maybe not that bad...

2 months ago bought a Bell CF helmet, it was $1300, the upgraded FIA certification needed for IMSA Indy etc, is $3500. That's before any paint or additional effort, Hans posts etc. High end suits can be as much as $5k. I doubt I would race in this gear, a bit over the top. BUT I'll for sure be buying the package. It's a priceless accessory to the car.

Maybe I missed it but I'd like to know if this kit is ordered with the car or if it's after we get a vin?
