For those of you who can't make it to Monterey, GT40 P/1075 (2-time Le Mans winner 1968 & 1969) is here. For those who are here, it is situated in the Rolex Legends of Racing tent with the story of its win in 1969. It's not brought out that often, so this is really a special treat!!

This is what it's all about!! :cheers

PS - All you Heritage guys should be here!!

Yes. Purchased from Harley Cluxton.

Yes - Rob Walton (WalMart) currently owns the car (along with a Scarab, 2 Birdcage Maseratis, a Lister Jag & others).

These shots were taken after it was transferred to the Rolex Legends of Racing tent . Tomorrow, I will try to get a picture with one of our "the Ford that Beat Ferrari" hats on either the top or the hood.

Also chatted with Don from Hennessey for awhile this morning.

That's correct. Electrical cut off is located there I believe.

I'll try to take a detailed set of closer pictures today for those of you that want to emulate as many features and details of P/1075. One thing I noticed from the start is the different door handles - I've never seen this before, but they are not the typical GT40 horizantal bar seen on all the others and the replicas. Also, as I have noted elsewhere, it only has one fuel filler location.

Jackie Ickx was Belgium and Jackie Oliver British as I recall. Quite a thrilling finish with Ickx beating out the Porsche!

Closest finish in LeMans history. Even more dramatic given the car was not on the cutting edge any more.

Closest racing finish - the 1966 Ford staged finish was the closest.

Hey Ralphie - where are you? I found AJB but not you yet. Here are some photos I have taken so far. Beautiful cars, weather & women!

Life is good,
Ed
