Its been an amazing winter, or lack of it. The sunrises have been breathtaking. I get up before sunrise every day and I am no expert photographer by any means. Here are a couple of shots I took this morning.

BTW, no matter how hard I tried, I could not get the first picture to focus.

'Looks just like the sunSETS in Arizona, Sam!

Obvious medical problem - getting up that early in the morning your eyes are blurry. No wonder you don't come to the Rallies. Why get up early when you can get up late.

25 years of being a Military contractor and oldest Son picked a High School 45 minutes away. Old habits don't die that quick. Besides, I truly enjoy sunrises :thumbsup

How about a trade for a couple of your SoCal Sunrises for a couple of NoWest Sunset and a moonrise with reflection of sunset?

This is of the only snowfall we got this winter. Mountain Top is about 50 +/- Nautical Miles from the house.

This oldie is one of my favorites, initially posted a few years ago on another thread. Taken with a Yashica Electro 35 GT and Kodachrome, May 5, 1972. I was living in Texas, but this was over central Arizona. We were trying to get a photo of the afterburner plume and although we could see it with our eyes, it didn't show up on film against the light background. So I was really disappointed when I got the processed roll back and didn't get the shot I wanted. This scan is crappy - it's a PITA to scan Kodachrome. But also typical for Kodachrome, a 16x20 photographic print shows no grain and lots of detail.

How about a sunrise over the Indian River off the East coast of Florida:

and a moonscape from the same spot.....keeps me up late at night and up early in the morning (and NO snow to contend with). :willy

Jakarta Sunset

On a few days when it is not raining and the smog allows some of the sunshine through I get these kind of sunsets out the window of my apartment here in Jakarta. Gin and tonic in one hand and camera in the other!

Now if I just had my GT waiting for me downstairs to drive off into the sunset. :rofl
