Small hydraulic fluid leak from aero flap mechanism

Creative Stef !
Not to be negative but realistic....
These vehicles are "hydraulic rocket ships".
When we watched them being built at Multimatic or just viewing photos of a vehicle "with the skin off", there is tubing, plumbing and many connections, o-rings etc.
Probably more linear feet of high pressure hydraulic line than length of wiring harnesses.
Honestly we will always be plagued by some form of hydraulic "weeping, seeping and in some cases leaking".

I took the easy way out.

Ed = pure simplicity and effective BUT--- BUT..... at least on my car, the CONTACT OCCURS ON THE INBOARD SIDE OF THE WING TO BODY .
(ie opposite to where you have your cardboard 'protector " located.-- right in the corner where the engine cover opens.)

Love the innovation and creativity.... keepsakes from Lemans are awesome!

Probably could source something in CHINA but SINOVAC would blow a gasket and all the truck stop hookers would be reported to the health department.... and our meat and toilet paper would be subject to delivery....due to a HUGE SYPHILIS outbreak.

That's where I have the cardboard protectors! The anterior corners of the wing.

PS I'm selling a pair of my cardboard protectors to Dr Frank for hundreds of $

Ed, if you look at your first picture, my wing actually contacted the Xpel on the ENGINE COVER side not the fender side. The Xpel was 'marred' but hopefully no paint damage. So, if I were to use your cardboard product, I would install 13.5 inches to the left, in the gap between the engine cover and wing, not the gap between the wing and fender.
My vehicle has plenty of clearance at that location .
Good luck with the development and sale of your "aero wing deployment protector "
Let us all know how Dr. Frank likes it.

Brilliant and simple idea Ed. I'll do the same. Thanks man

Does raising the wing position increase or decrease the pressure in the system?

For the record, on my car, I just learned that the hydraulic actuator needs to be replaced.

I modified it by adding 2 more cardboard protectors with AJB's advice.

Question arises; Ford telling us to leave wing up,? Or do we leave it down with”protection”?
Interesting how old tech is new again! Remember Citroen DSs with their central hydraulic pump? Today few mechanics can work on them! I am hoping GT guys will be available to work on new GT when warranty is up!! ( or MM will be available for long term maintenance!)

Very interesting question? How close will Ford and Multimatic stand behind the New Ford GT when the three year warranty is up? Not just anyone can work on these puppy’s hydronic system . Parts availability have been problems!

Really Hi-Tech Ed. Love it.

That's how I first did it too.
I just got tired of losing them everytime I pulled out of the driveway, leading to a cardboard shortage crisis.

I have a few extras made up that I can give to you Stef! They only come in cardboard color - what is that called?

I don't know these cars yet but how about a clear stick on plastic bumper.
