Silver Brackets

I have been looking at a couple of cars lately and have seen several with silver brackets on the oil tank (where the tank attaches to the frame). normally these brackets are black. does anyone know if a couple of cars left the factory painted silver or is this a clue that the frame has been painted with a simple mask-off to cover a quick fix?

I have an 05 with silver brackets. As far as I know that's the way it came from the factory.

There was a change made from silver to black during production.

Do not know when that occured, at the end of 2005 run or during?

The silver ones I have seen have been on 05's.

Mine is an 06 and has black brackets.

I've seen early '06's with silver brackets too. Most of the '06 are black.

Yes confirmed, at least one early 06 has the silver brackets, # was int he 180's as I recall.

Youre right. My '05 car has silver, and the 06 cars have black! Oh, one more thing for you Chuck Norris fans. I bought a tee-shirt with an image of Chuck Norris in tight tennis shorts and athletic knee socks that bears one of my favorite quotes: "Chuck Norris can beat a brick wall at tennis." I love it!
