Should or Must do's for tracking GT.... + prep

Put in some diamond plate thats about 4 x 5" thats tucked under the 2nd last pan and fixed with the nearest bolt.
The pressured area showing is about 4 x 4" in size.
I did it because I don't want to accidentally punch onto the bell pans if I'm a little bot off.
Polished for visual ease.
I was thinking stainless initially, but the diamond was laying around.

I did the same thing with yellow tire marker.

I ended up using a 1/2" chopping board cut up with a slit on the back edge to keep the pan edge pretty low.
I went this way for ease to see and don't need to worry about any damage and added a little counter sink for bolt.

Decided to screw around with some (what I actually want to be a total waste of time project) a home made front tow hook (love Kendals but didn't want that it much)

And thinking about if things should go wrong (not bad wrong but get stuck) and need a rear tow there isn't anything that was really fits a hook up point out back. Wasn't sure wheels should be pulled on?

So with too much time I decided to work on this rear tow issue.

Decided that the rear inside jack points would be part of my stress point and the corners of the lower under trans frame the other.

I made up plates of steel to fit as a sandwich at the rear jack points, with 3/4" grade 8 x 5" long bolts with locking nut +
two 36" D shackle straps, some header wrap and some 3' 5" DEI head shielding cut tow 2 x 15" strips


Decided to use two straps as I wanted to no force press on (not sure how strong it is) the trans and not anything tugging at an angle on the outside of the diffuser/bolts.
So depending on what direction the car would need to be pulled, you'd use the appropriate strap and pull straight back or to 45 deg.

Took out the lower grill (better for cooling, and added some stainless bolts for hanging the straps when not needed.

I'm just curious, but did you think about a dedicated track car like the MkII? A lot more modern with all the bells and whistles built in.

Not really, this project was boredom mixed with potential lack of care by a tow guy just doing his thing.
It won't be a track car.

Why not adjust the fans to run your engine cooler.....With the Torrie tune my car runs fine in the Florida heat.

I put in a racing radiator and removed the exit screens behind the fans. Runs cool as a cucumber! Plus I made my brake ducts functional and plumbed the ductwork. Also helps reduce brake dust!

I made up some brake scoop ducting using existing bolts with some air direction additional to scoop to direct to upper section of brake/hub assembly.
Takes 5 min to remove.
I just need to be sure its no too low for a trailer.

Another not needed addition, but I had nothing else to do.

Its not carbon fibre

I added the tape to smooth the air flow on the top edge
it looks low but the scoop sits about 1 1/2 inches lower the belly.

Put in Scots 2 way Ohlins set up the other day and went for a drive (brand new rubber as well)

Slow speed <30mph didn't notice much but car felt sold and had weight on centre.
When above 40>mph and throwing some swerving the car jumped left and right with what felt like no effort.
I first of all went "shit it turns" but did this a couple of times and began to feel like its was too responsive and could get dicey.

Decided to string line the car for interest (after going to Youtube and checking how)
I ran the string lines through the centre caps on all wheels, got the rears the same distance from string and same for front (respective to track width).

Straight away I could see the all wheels had toe out (pointing to the woods).

Looking at Scotts set up and Fords window, its all toe in as spec needed.

I just don't know how the car could be so far off?????

My (all toe out) numbers front left was .23" front right .28" rear left .23" right rear .15"

Min toe in is from Scott ...front is 1/16th...rear 5/64

These numbers are way out past anybody's settings recommendations, unless you want to drive in your garage.

I emailed him and sure he can line me up with my head scratching (as well as youz if you can?

Looking at the Boxster.
Splitter has a channel aimed at a deflector attached to the lower control arm directing air to the rotor.
GT has the channel, just need to add a deflector to control arm and wala. Give the deflector some angle to add downforce or at least prevent lift.
Just another way to do it.

Noticed the clutch is toast last month/2 and was taking up real high (last few inches) so got the SPEC upgrade (organic option)
Now trying to see about shop floor time from Ryan at Heffner.
