I picked up a 55 gallon drum of this stuff recently and have been talking with the guys inside Shell about this fuel for some time. I have always run C16 Leaded Race Gas in my car when I had it turned up all the way and I have ton's of data from the car at all sorts of modification levels. So this was essentially a test of how far I could push this fuel directly against C16. And in my opinion at least with my specific setup I find that both of these 2 fuels are relatively equivalent. The part that attracted me obviously is this fuel being unleaded and the decreased maintenance level from not having to use a Leaded fuel IE Plug changes, increased Oil changes, 02 sensor changes etc. The car didn't graph out as nicely as it usually does, I had a couple of coils on the way out during these runs that problem wasn't confirmed until the ride home. I can't complain one bit though the stock coils have survived this sort of power level for over 5 years, multiple standing mile events and 44,500 miles. Once I get everything functional again I'll be back on the dyno to continue my research.

Below are 2 uncut videos from Sunday.

Torrie - thanks for the info :thumbsup

i see that this fuel is 5 octane numbers HIGHER than VP's MS109 unleaded which is 105 octane :eek

this raised the bar in terms of Octane for Unleaded race gas BIG time :biggrin

i bet i can pick up another 25 rwhp with a tune for this fuel as i should be able to advance my timing at least another 4 degrees with this fuel as opposed to the tune i have with the 100 octane which dyno'd 751 rwhp....

how much does a gallon of this fuel cost? i am guessing $15 a gallon

Precisely Freddy, another thing you have to take into consideration in regards to MS109 is that its oxygenated, this fuel is not. MS109 you have to make fuel curve changes to deal with its 13.41 stoich point.

if i were to upgrade my fuel system and put headers on i bet my 3.4L whipple could make 800 rwhp at 21 psi with this fuel and 24+ degrees of timing :biggrin a built engine from accufab with ported and polished heads and bigger cam's etc would probably make 1000 rwhp with a 4.0 L whipple and 25 pounds of boost :bow

Awesome !

Oh and a 55 gallon drum is $ 550, 5 Gallon pale is $ 65 plus freight. If anyone is interested email or PM me I can have it shipped to your door. [email protected]

I'd be up for using it considering how much C16 I go through but would need more data. Can you go do 5-6 220mph pulls? ;)

Yeah hold on I'll be right back !

link to fuel data?

What is your reasoning behind more oil changes running leaded fuel? Thanks
