Shadowman "Rally IV and a Few Thoughts"

You said it Brothers !!! :cheers

Sadly, in most cases the forum based relationships are not only formed as the direct result of a specific gal/marquee but remain to say the least superficial whereas not only IMO is the Ford GT a very unique moment in time but even more so is the eclectic group of folks that have come together becoming IMO in the truest sense “friends”.
...

This IMO is not longer a Ford GT gathering but rather a gathering of friends that own/have owned Ford GTs; we all know how it began with our friends DBK and Bony being pivotal and I dare say that they likely expected it to become and remain as IMO are “all” other on line gathering points, a rather typical on line car club that would unfold and then to some degree scatter or at the very least fracture over time; I dare say that no one could have anticipated the endless number of complex multi faceted relations that would and continue to be formulated as the “direct” result of the proverbial switch being flipped aka our forum being turned on several years ago.

As always, great thoughts from the Shadowman.

On the second point, I can tell you that the site was started with the goal of arriving where we are today. I didn't think it would ever get this tight, but the acceptable conduct of the site was to act only as you'd act in real life. That has paid great dividends I think, whereas many car sites become a platform for keyboard warriors to run into a virtual room and unleash their innermost child. I couldn't have forecast that many of my closest friends on the site weren't just my closest friends "on the site", but just plain closest friends. The Rally is an enormous expression of that.

I've always felt, and I think the core membership of the forum feels the same way, that the day we stand around in a parking lot handing each other trophies for being the North Mid-South Region Club Vice President of the Year is the day the site gets shut down. Just as you said, there are no egos here. I hope this continues perpetually.

Nicely said Bill and Dave.

Bill,

Great Words that sum up what we all have experienced on this Forum and enjoyed together at the Rally's, C&C, Indy....

It all started with the cars and ends up being all about these wonderful folks that co-incidentally own a GT. Friends forever!

I'm so honored to be a very small part of our GT Family.
