I saw it a couple weeks ago. Good. First half is better because the second half gets mired in being really heavy.

At the Sonoma Historic Motorcars Festival in early June, we were treated to a preview showing of the film. Quite a man, and career. However, it didn't make me shift my allegiance to him - I will always be an Alain Prost fan. Interesting though that Prost is involved in handling many of Senna's post-mortem affairs.

Just being released into theaters in the USA now. The info for release theaters etc is here (http://sennamovie.com/). I can't wait for the DVD to come out. I'm told there's over 4 hours of movie footage which has shrunk to about 2 for the theatrical release. Anyway, agree with DBK, but it's still completely captivating all the way through.

Here's the release dates for the USA:

August 12th: New York and LA

August 19th: Austin, Berkley, Cambridge, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Miami, Nashville, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington DC

August 26th: Atlanta, Denver, Minneapolis, Palm Springs, Palo Alto, Portland, San Diego, Seattle

September 2nd: Charlotte, Indianapolis, Knoxville, and St. Louis

I can't speak to the movie, haven't seen it, but here is an old Top Gear episode - a drive with Senna.

Kinda' puts things in perspective, if you really think your fast.

IMO the best driver all times. When he crashed my wife(who was pregnant) and I were following the race. It was then we decided the name of our son. Senna was not accepted so we called him Senne instead. How he could handle those monsters, even in the rain. Respect

Just saw the movie last night at a local small theater in Connecticut. Thoroughly enjoyed it and even my wife who is not a fan of racing liked it a great deal.

Saw it last month with my wife (a non-gearhead). I thought it was great, but surprisingly, she loved it too, I think because of the 'human interest' aspects of it. I loved the part when the TV Host (his girlfriend-to-be) asked him what he wanted for Xmas, and he whispered it to her ear - I can only imagine what he said!

Another must-see documentary is the BBC film, "Grand Prix - The Killing Years" (maybe you can get it on Netflix?). Absolutely horrifying stuff about F1 in the 70s. Jackie Stewart is interviewed and he says that, during that period, every time he started a race, there was a 2 in 3 chance that he'd be killed! He knew 57 friends who'd all died racing - very sad stuff with some awful footage.

Anyone find a blu-ray for release? I couldn't and ordered an UK version without a country code block. Looks like the US release is DVD only. If someone finds one for release let me know.

I don't think the Blu-Ray will be any better than the DVD, as most of the footage is quite old and grainy.
