So, I bought a Radenso detector and plan to use a mirror mount. Just behind the mirror is the overhead interior light console which looks like the perfecr place for a power source. Has anyone taken the console off? Any tips?

The real most important first mod....
Have to get a radar detector in place. 12 volt plug is on right side of center console. Doesn't work aesthetically. Opened up upper light console. Four press in fittings (be careful they will try to fall out into the least accessible cracks of the seat when trim is pulled off). Plug into map...

This trim pulls straight down from the corners
the four spring clips press on the plastic frame can go flying off
six torx screws hold assembly up (2 sizes-larger in the middle) pull out and turn it over

steve coates delivery specialist suggested i do not put the radar detector on the gorilla glass so as to not put any weight on it. any one else have any other ideas about where to mount the detector?
I have used this company for mirror mounting detectors. They don't have a NFGT set up in their drop down menus yet but if the GT has a similar mirror from other Ford products it will work. I would call them and inquire about what is best or if one of their generic mounts would be compatible. Let us know what you find out please.

I have an older Blend mount that works on both my 2006 Ford GT and my 2012 Ford F150. Guess what! It also works on my 2019 Ford GT too. I think they sell an accessory piece that is shorter than mine which would bring the detector closer to the bottom of the mirror. I plan on getting it and try it out.

You seldom spare the horses so I assume you consider Radenso to be the best detector currently made. I don't know anything about them but my Passport Max goes off so often (I assume because of so many cars equipped with distance sensing cruse control) that I often just turn it off. Does the Radenso detector deal with that problem any better? I also just ordered a blend mount. Thanks.

I have a mirror mount but I stopped using it as the detector now blocks much of my vision. I used the suction cup glass mount with my '05 GT & it never came loose for 10+ years. Now it's tucked up out of the way. I like the V1 as I send it back every few years for the updates. The K Band filter helped tremendously to reduce false alerts.

Uniden R3 is a solid choice. The built in GPS gives you virtually zero false alarms on your daily commute and the ability to change sensitivity by band is huge for me. Also has continuous free software updates. Waaaay better than my previous V1's
Chip, in all the comparisons I read the Radenso had fewest false alerts, plus, it’s tiny. Given the fragility of our windscreens I think this is a plus - even with a blend mount you are still throwing extra weight into the mirror, which is glued to the windscreen.

As most of you know there in no power source at the mirror. Also here is no constant power on source anywhere in the car. I had my dealer run me a constant power on source when the dash was out into the foot well behind the foot rest on the passenger side. On my rally last year I ran the Uniden R3 and worked great. I did suction cup it to the windshield along with my 4k camera. I used a multi port unit form amazon and ran that to the single 12v power source in the car. Velcro to the side wall and that fed all my equipment including 2 usbs for cell phones. The amazon unit had its own power on and off as well.

The power source and ground is from the overhead lights at the top center of the roof liner. Easy to pop off the cover with 4 spring clips. Wires have easy access but are thin. The blend mount fits on the mirror mast . You need about 12-18 inches of telephone cord with the Jack on the end as for my Escort Redline.

ZHE connector- black to left or top, is ground, and other outside wire green/yellow is timed power, goes off a couple of minutes after you turn off and leave the car, powers up with car on. It does not look like a molded connector so maybe tinning the ends and pressing in would work. Certainly would be cleaner, but it's all tucked up inside.
