I have officilaly started my GT shopping. As most of you recent buyers know some dealers are very high and some are realistic about the current market. I'm curious as to see what some of you just paid.
I really don't want to start a public debate on pricing etc.. If you could PM me the info that would be great. Helpful info would be Color, Options and total car cost before tax and tags. Dealer location would be helpful as well. Thank you and I hope to be joining the rest of you owners soon.

Good luck on your search. It will be fun and exciting for you. Best recomendation I have for you is to search the states that are about to get snow. If its about saving money, search the states that have no sales tax that you can register/buy your car in. Oregon/New Jersey? and I believe 1 or 2 more. If you have a favorite color, get it. If you don't and want complete traditional then go for the heritage. If you want most rare... I believe yellow no stripes(help me out here fellas).. there you go.

Prices have probably dropped a touch since the last update.

It doesnt matter what state you buy the car, you pay your home state sales tax, looking at his profile he will pay florida taxes. There really isn't a way around it unless he has other residences elsewhere. Trying to establish residency in another state just to save 10k (on a $170k car) is a pain along with the risk of getting caught for tax evasion. Oregon, montana, and south carolina are the cheapest states to register a car, new jersey is 7% and rising :frown (my home state).

Unless you already have Alaska, Montana is the place to do it. No sales tax and very low registration (and average insurance costs). Set up your dummy business LLC and get on it :thumbsup

As far as rarity...quicksilver no options :wink

Guys thanks for all your replies. Ajgt is correct i will eventuall have to pay sales tax in FL. Thanks to thoose who sent PM's as well
I also want to thank Centerpunch who started his GT prices website which gave me an education and got me here to this great site. I hope to join you all as an owner very soon. Believe it or not one of the hardest decisions is chosing the color. This car looks great in any color!! and at this time I can only afford one!!

Please read my post more carefully next time. I said"...THAT YOU CAN REGISTER..." meaning, maybe the fellow has a second home in one of these places or possibly family. I guess "can" could mean (possibility, legal way) or many others. Never did I state to try and screw the Gov. or put yourself in a bind. I guess jersey, what I'm saying is to not assume.... cause we all know what happens when you assume... How are the big hair'd women in your state anyway? :lol

May I suggest black with no painted stripes? No one ever mentions black...

Mine just arrived about 8 hours ago from Pennsylvania. Forgive me for posting pics in more than one thread today. I'm just too damn excited. Don't know if I can sleep tonight. Maybe I'll just have to sleep in the GT, since I'll be dreaming about it anyway.

I subscribe to AutoWeek and every issue there are three or four GTs for sale, usually one to two at sticker.

I would say that you will likely be able to find one at MSRP or perhaps a little less, especially if you are willing to accept a few color choices.

There are deals out there.

Deals can be found and made. My dealer in the NorthEast told me they had a $820 per month flooring charge for my car. I don't think the smaller dealers who received late delivery cars want to have GTs sitting around at those rates as Fall/Winter sets in around here. I did the entire transaction over the phone and bought it significantly under MSRP.

SYCO GT - I for one would actually like to see a few more shots of your car, i.e. more front views. PM me if you prefer. It appears that without the center stripes, the black car takes on an even meaner appearance that the lighter cars don't have. The GT is such a great design that depending on how it is painted/optioned it has several different looks. Truly a classic design.

p.s. has anyone seen a yellow painted with white stripes? I know it wasn't a Ford option but maybe someone did it themselves. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd car with that done.

I'd go one step further and suggest totally black with no center or side stripes - course I'm a little biased!

(all black)
