My first post as a proud owner of a Heritage which I'll be picking up next week in Chicago. I've visited the FGTF for some time and have been fascinated and impressed with the wealth of knowledge and passion of the members.

I would be most grateful for any and all thoughts and suggestions of the following which I'm planning to do: a) Accufab X pipe, b) amp/subwoofer relocate and CF console install, c) Air inlet support, d) Accufab throttle body, e) Kenne Bell HCD, f) Flash Tuner, g) Rear bumper delete, h) iPod cable, i) Escort remote radar detector and laser jammer.

Is there anything here you'd suggest deleting, replacing or adding? I was considering having the GT Guys perform the mods; however, I will likely drive the gal to the West Coast to ship back home to Hawaii, therefore if there's another shop you'd recommend, I'd like to hear your suggestions.

Many thanks. It's feeling like Christmas!

Aloha Aloha!

Congrats on your purchase..you will not regret it!!

On your questions about mods you might want to use the forum search tools as there is a wealth of information about them already here.

The GT-Guys are the Bomb!! Use them without hesitation they are professionals and highly GT knowledgeable.:thumbsup :thumbsup

Hmm..I wonder how many GT's will be in Hawaii???:banana

RE: Mods

I personally did the Mac speaker relocation and short shifter install with my friend, with guidance over the phone from Shadowman (To whom I am grateful). It was rather easy to do with my friend's mechanical experience. The whole project took us about 7-8 hrs as it was our first time, and we were very very careful. I suspect we could do it in 3 hours now.

I would say they were both REALLY worth it. The Mac in my opinion sounds great, but looked horrible. Now I have the best of both worlds. While I was skeptical how much different the short shifter would be, I was VERY pleasantly surprised. It only takes an extra 15-30 minutes to install it once you have the console off for the Macintosh relocation.

I can't comment on the other projects. I am going to have the Accufab bolts installed if there is no better fix from Ford (supposedly an announcement is coming at the Rally next month), and am considering a trans cooler.

ENJOY

dont change a thing...as far as I'm concerned, no mods

You might want to think about the trans oil cooler. Two products out there... check the post on the site for more info.

The trans cooler and breather plus the short shifter would be great additions.

The GT Guys are great! Or, contact shadowman and have his shop do the work.

Welcome to the forum! Are you going to make the rally??

Off topic, I am in vancouver and saw a Heritage with number 3 on it across from our hotel on Georgia st. Anyone here?

Many thanks for all your input. I sincerely appreciate it, including making no mods...but I don't think I can resist. As to how many GTs in Hawaii, very few. On Oahu, the most populated of all the islands, a dealer recently told me there are three. I noticed there's at least one on the Big Island of Hawaii as he posts as HiloGT, as I seem to recall.

Thanks for the suggestions on the trans cooler, breather and short shifter. Shadowman, where are you located and how do I get in touch with you?

Bony, when and where is the rally?

I suppose I need to get much more familiar with the Forum.

I'd welcome any other thoughts.

Depending on how tall you are, you may consider lowering the seats. My shop here in Socal did the following interior mods for me:
1) seat lowering by 1 1/2"
2) Clarion navigation w/ rear view camera
3) subwoofer relocation w/ custom center panel covered in leather
4) K40 front and rear radar w/ laser jammer

They work evenings and weekends to try to get customers' car done so if you can't hangout for too many days, maybe they can work around the clock and get your car done in a fairly short period of time, the only bottleneck might be the seat lowering as the leather guy is extremely busy.

Thanks for your comments. How often do you use the camera and what do you think of it?

The Clarion comes on automatically when I put the car into reverse but sometimes it is a little slow switching the image from naviagtion or media player to rear camera view, maybe a second or so, but I guess that's all good and gives me time to turn my lazy head and scan the rear before backing up. Besides navigation, it is also an MP3 player with a 10 gig HD and picture viewer and I have it hooked into the aux. input of the Mac so it works really slick.

Aloha, you should REALLY look at the nuclear reactor light. Be the only one with one on the islands. Look at the GTsaver.com site by Analogdesigner.

What I have done is: Short Shifter, Mac re locate, Heffner pipe, Accufab stifner and Throttle body with a tune from Tony G! Aloha - don't forget the tune. It's what pulls the car together!

Other cosmetic items include the Speed Lingerie Bra, CF insert panel w/ Shelby's signature and the Proline windscreen protection. Still awaitng the modified Stillen mud flaps.....

Thanks for the tip. I recall seeing it on the Forum, I believe. I've gone on GTsaver.com but there doesn't appear to be any info on it. I've sent them an email.

Does anyone know where I can get the CF insert panel?

Congratulations & Welcome !! Get the Carbon Fiber stuff for sure !!! :biggrin

Does anyone know where I can get the CF insert panel?

From Me....... CF console, Floor plate, POD and more coming soon!!

The short shifter is a good one to add.

I did all my custom work at Genaddi desgings www.gtx1.com

Does anyone know where I can get the CF insert panel?

The rear pipe plastic replacement came from Albofaz, Stormcat is going crazy with CF, the console comes from Kip Ewing and this "insert" came from Shadowman....

The Accufab X pipe is almost required if you are going to drive the car in hot climates. I have warped two clamshell parts due to the Texas heat. The accufab dropped the temp significantly. My water temp rarely goes over 180 now. The car sounds like a GT40, but is quiet in the cabin if you are simply cruising.
