So Cal
Do you have to "prime" the car before you start it if it sits for a while (1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks ?), like you prime it after an oil/filter change.

It's a good idea!

For us newbies that also have "CRAFT" disease (can't remember a fking thing) could you review the "procedure" on how to properly prime before starting!!!
Thanks

Basically floor it while cranking it for 20 sec (won't start @ WOT). Details linked below.

Thank you kindly!!! Now I hope that I remember to do it when I start the car on Saturday. It hasn't been started since November and I'm taking it out to the "detailer" to get it ready for "driving season". Last year I put over 4,000 miles on it (try to make up for members like EP) and hope to do the same this year, maybe more as I didn't get it until the end of June 2010!!!!

A good reminder for me too..... Mine will be fired up next week for the first time in a while. Since Le Mans. Eeeek!

Guys, just remember to follow the instructions SPECIFICALLY in the order given. Otherwise your engine might wake up to a WOT start (as others have experienced by not following the procedure).

Mine started up nice and smooth when I followed the priming procedure, cranked it for about 20 seconds, let go of the start before I took my foot off the happy pedal, than hit the start without touching the gas pedal, fired right up and sounded like music!!!

Priming Procedure:

1. Clutch in, car in neutral;
2. Turn key all the way on... wait a second or two to let gauges initialize
3. Floor the gas pedal and hold it
4. Push and hold the start button for 20 sec or until Oil Pressure is seen on the gauge - whichever is sooner.
5. Let go of start button
6. Let up on gas pedal
7. Turn key-off
8. Turn key on - wait a couple of seconds for gauges to initialize
9. Press start button and car will start normally (You should see oil pressure within the first second or two after ignition)
