Are there any real sound or peformance differences between these three units? The Accufab is the least expensive, most elegant and probably the lightest of the three. Would there be any reason to consider one of the others?

I just did the Heffner. Sorry, no sound clips available. All are lighter, cooler and probably provide some performance bump over stock... In my opinion, the absolute best looking tips - that's what sealed the deal for me.

Bony,

Do you know why they'd choose the Accufab as an owner?

Thanks,

Rob

That was my exact question to them...

Maybe the value quotient comes into play.

But, those Heffner tips are without a doubt, beautiful.

I am happy with my Accufab, and from my research, it seemed like a sure thing. However, I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the tips on the current market. Each has their own fine nuances, but I think generally they are similar.

All of the exhaust IDA, Heffner and Accufab willl perform and sound very close. The Accufab is the least costly, ergo the best value of the bunch. I chose the Heffner due to the tips. If it was value was my primary concern, I would have bought a Z06 not a GT and wouldn't ever have to make the decision.

I appreciate all of the support that vendors are giving us. Bob Ida was the 1st and if others didn't make a similar product we wouldn't be having this discussion. The good news is there are a lot of good choices and you cannot go wrong with any of them.

:cheers :thumbsup

Ida sounds the best

I chose the Ida for the sound. Great high pitched race car sound at high revs, appropiate crackling & popping coming off high revs with no drone at freeway speeds. I can also clamp on the end of the pipes my Super Trapp slip ons to pass sound at Laguna Seca.

On Friday 4-20-07 at Thunderhill Bill Emerson of Emerson Motorsports (Cobra car manufacturer & GT nut) said it was the best sounding car on the track & very reminiscent of the original GT40s. He's been trying to get a Ford 4.6L to sound like that for a project & states it is difficult, but Bob Ida was able to do it. I personally feel that some of the systems out there make the GT sound like a hopped up truck or, at best, a modified Mustang/Vette. There's no mistaking an Ida GT for anything else. Every head turns everywhere I go.

I'am still trying to decide which exhaust system I should get , Question, how does the Ford racing exhaust compare to these other systems....

How long did the guys that went with Heffner wait? Ive been waiting for two weeks so far :frown

My Ida exhaust has a good sound to it. I think that he understood what to do from day one and did it!

For me, none of the above. I chose the Stainless Works long tube header system with Random Tech cats. At WOT loud for sure, but under normal driving conditions (<3,000 rpm) very pleasing to the ear. Weight reduction ~75 lb., engine bay heat reduction very significant, the appearance is awesome and correct movement of the center of gravity has got to be significant. Cat back systems retain the heavy, unattractive and restrictive OEM exhaust manifolds and cats which negate a straight out the back option.

I followed The Shadowman and Joe's lead, and am pleased as punch:thumbsup

can anyone comment on the Heffner system with baffles installed? I am looking for weight loss, better heat dispersal, but not much louder than stock.

Joe,

Does this pass emissions tests in your state?

Thanks,

From what I have seen and heard there is not a lot of difference in the sound coming from the Ida, Heffner or Accufab. I say support your local vendor. He or she will be there for you when you need them!! My two cents. PD
