Parts crossover list?

Perhaps I missed it, but I can't find a list of parts from other Ford vehicles that fit the GT. For instance, a recent post pointed out that the wheel bearings (front and rear) are from a 2003 Explorer. I know there are some other parts that could be included. It would be convenient to have a list showing part name, part number, and vehicle year and model as a sticky. I'm far from being an expert, so I can't prepare such a list - but there are others on the Forum who can.

Here's a quick list off the top of my head.
Steering column is Focus
Clock spring and levers are Mondeo
Fuel release door mech is Mondeo
Washer bottle is Aston Martin DB5
Park brake lever under trim is Escort
outer door release bottom is Explorer back window release button
inner release door handle is side door handle from Econoline hinged door
rearview center mirror is from Mustang coverable
steering wheel was from base Mustang with different logo insert

several of the item were trimmed or wires / cables made longer or shorter giving the FGT numbers

So my GT is a miss mash of Ford parts?
Suits me fine!

Thanks DataDale, but your list is a little incomplete without including year and part numbers, and your list is missing the wheel bearings and probably other parts already listed in other posts.

A cross reference parts sticky or a hot link to another location for parts would be very handy especially for us FGT owners who don't live near large cities where more experienced FGT dealers exist.

Rear fender marker lights are Range Rover.

I think he did pretty good for a "quick list off the top of his head" :)

I think the window switches on the door panels are also from another Ford - can't remember which one.

Oil filter housing and cap is BMW.

Oil filter housing and cap is BMW.

The filter is also. :lol

Obviously there's a lot of useful info held by the Forum members, but no one has put it together. If those who have part names, numbers, vehicle year and model will PM me the info, I will build a spread sheet of it and submit it to DBK as a sticky. As more info becomes available, it can be added.

This information would help everyone. How about it?

I thought it was Bosch....

I thought it was Bosch....

An BMW 3 series OEM filter is a perfect fit. Mann, Bosch, Mahle, and others make them.

Vincent, excellent idea. As another newbie, I would love to have this info handy. So old-timers, please start throwing out those parts and numbers/years.

Thanks in advance.

Members and owners service life on a standard Ford Part is 10 years, on a FGT it is 15 yrs.
Thanks to Mr. Edsel Ford's (RIP) passion and Love for the car in 2012. he added 5 more years shelf life on FGT service items.
Must all of the Carry over, from other Ford products are now, out of dealer service stock items, or will be end of this year.
So they will only be available by there FGT numbers.

However all of these carry over Ford Parts are Marked with the original program, Year, model, base part number and revision level modeled or stamped in them.
This is SOP on all Ford Production parts, with the exception being unique FGT parts. Do to low volume not all parts had the requirement.

So with out a FGT to take a part and look at the pieces. I would not be able to tell what year or release level with out seeing the parts again.
As I'm working from memory of the Data that I used 12 yrs ago. That I retrieved from around the world / old Ford Empire.

DataDale, Thank you for this information. Good stuff!

While I appreciate the concept of an interchangeable parts database, the reality is that it would be a huge effort to maintain over the years.

The fact is, if anyone has a question about parts, problems, fixes, or pretty much anything GT related, they are almost assured to get a fast and reliable answer here on this wonderful forum.

A member was looking for a brake boosted. It unlikely it is unique to the FGT, must of come from some other Ford.

BlackICE thanks for key info!!!
Ford GT production P/N is 4G7V-2B195-AE, Its a Bosch Part P/N 0 204 A32 510 rev level C
What Bosch called a tandem 8. That's a 8 inch dia. double thick Bosch actuation Booster.
I just happened to work for Bosch for a few years in Europe before coming home and doing the FGT.
Parts of the complete booster asy unit are from other Ford products !!!with a couple of KEY exceptions!!!
The actuation rod was developed for the FGT and is unique to the sub asy 4G7V-2005-A*
This is one of the few parts I have a print on.

This is NOT a part to be reconstructed from other FORD or Bosch items.
Failure or leakage of this item will kill you, your passenger or both.

Thanks Data Dale
I wonder if the Ford Part 4GV7-2B195-AE is available, Its no big deal to swap the push rod over,,
Northwood GT says he has Boosters, but have been unable to get one from him..

I'll send you a drawing. So if you have to build one from Bosch items and your used FGT M/cyl & your push rod.
But what you want from a dealer is a 5G7Z-2005-A* this is just the booster and rod asy.
Or a 5G7Z-2B195-AE is the complete asy with reservoir, Master cyl, cap, clutch bracket and Booster rod Asy.

Dale do you recognize my avatar?
