A couple weeks ago, I recieved the flange bolt kit from Accufab, & finally after work today, I got enough ambition to tackle replacing the dreaded OEM bolts.....just for some piece of mind. The left side is now done & to be honest, it wasn't that bad of a job at all. The other side will be a piece of cake tomorrow. :thumbsup

To cut down on the nasty brake dust, I'm also changing over to the green brake pads while I'm down there.

Now, if a chuckle-head like me can perform this task, anyone else with some good mechanical skills can do it also. :cheers

BTW, has anyone ever come up with a reason why the right wheels get dustier than the left side? :confused

(1) DID YOU FIND A PBLM WITH THE OEM's, Mark????

(2) Lemme see... I was told my car has that pblm 'cause I turn left too much... I put greater pressure on the RIGHT side of the brake pedal ... Oh, I don't know what all. BUT, the bottom line was it was all MY fault!
Therefore, acc'ding to all indicators - YOUR car's right side dust pblm is YOU!!!!!!!:biggrin

It has always been the case that those on the right do all the work and hence, they create most of the dust. The ones on the left just sit around and bitch about the high-speed, the heat, and the unsafe working conditions. The left side creates very little dust as they sit there doing nothing but waiting for a government program to solve the speed problem.

I took off the left side last night & the factory bolts & washer looked ok. Simply, I'm changing them because I want peace of mind & not a statistic.

The right side bolts were completed last night & I'm happy to report than the factory bolts were ok. The $200.00 I spent on the bolts kit & 5 hours worth of time was definately worth my peace of mind. :thumbsup

On another note, while I was working on the project one wheel at a time, I could spin the wheel that was in the air while the other one was on the ground, meaning that the rear end in these vehicles are not equipped with a limited slip rear end. This explains that when the axles have popped out, the driver cannot get the vehicle to move.

I've never pulled a holeshot in mine, but for those who have, are these vehicles one-wheeler-squealers? Am I missing something? :confused

Nope, two wheelers. Tires are awful soft and sticky also, leaves marks on the new cement driveway that doesn't come off easy at all, which seems to be a constant reminder to my lovely bride to ... well ... to grump about occasionally, like weekly or so ... damn ...

There are couple of possible reasons. The first is that there could be some small air bubbles in your caliper or line on the left side. You may want to bleed your calipers. The other potential reason is that there may be small machining differences in the mounting points from side to side causing bias. You would know if you find that one pad is wearing on one side of the caliper differently or assymetrically compared to the other. Try bleeding your brakes, you may find that is the culprit!

After numerous donut practices, and launches, I had plenty of tire "eraser markers" embedded in my wheel wells on each side. So I would have to concur that both wheels are screamin'...
