My impressions of the NFGT
I never drove a NFGT before my car arrived. I was like a kid in a candy store waiting for that opportunity. I own a '05 and was expecting much of the same. I find the NFGT to be completely different.
The car is very 'raw' and I don't mean that in a bad way. It is clearly a race car first and a street car second. It's harsh... it loud... and very fast. It doesn't give that slam into the back of the seat like the '05 but it thrills in a completely different way. Suddenly, you are going a 100 miles an hour and it feels like 50. I'm well under the 600 mile break-in so I haven't really been able to really drive it but 1st impression... wow. I'm really impressed. I race an IMSA GTP prototype and drive a Turbo Porsche as my daily driver so I don't think I'm easily impressed... I'm impressed!
The cross between race car and street car is difficult and most attempts fail. Ford got this right. It is a wonderful car and I can't wait to track it.
One big negative... the gawkers drive you nuts and completely surround you with thumbs up and phone cameras. I guess I can live with that [emoji15].
The wait is worth it.
