New Shelby GT500(?)


I thought they might announce something this week, I guess New York is next. That is where they rolled out the 07 GT500.
 
Car and Driver announced it before Ford has this month

Wow a cage will be a factory option!.... HA, nah, just a bar to enable the use of harness for testing.... Commonly added, ESPECIALLY for the media drives.... I love clickbait...
 
New photos and details leaked last week. 5.2 cross plane supercharged engine codenamed Predator. Maybe the Detroit Auto show will be the unveiling. All I ask is a GT350 with at least 200 more hp.
 
This car with a 10 speed auto is gonna be a drag strip terror.

yes NON direct injection 5.2 with 2.65 tvs blower. Should make 750hp at 8-10lbs of boost. Whp at that boost level in all reality.
 
 
I am very interested in getting one if it comes to be. I sure hope Ford makes it available with the DCT option, that would make it truly unique.
 
The world needs a 202mph Mustang.

Won't happen with the dct. Tremec does not even have the building finished in Wixom to produce the transmissions yet. One of the reasons the new vette is not done. Tremec bought all the electronics stuff from Ferrari to make the dct 7 speed trans two years ago i believe.

Well bummer, but that sheds a little more light on all the speculation.

I saw a video that hints of an announcement on 1-12-18. Looks like the wait might be over.
