And we're surprised that a glacier collapses and wipes out a whole town while you are there?

That was in Switzerland ;)

I was in western Switzerland in Basel…during the Eurovision Song Contest weekend. Fun people watching.

I like that blue color, I might have choosen it if I had purchased it back in time.

Nice brothers at your profile pic. I like that kind of stuff.

Congrats!!!! I dig the side markers

Welcome to the Ford GT Family!

Thank you guys. Last week was the day. After all necessary reporting we got the licence plate, all the work and repairs are done and the car finally joined my garage. And what can I say? The car drives beautiful. The gear shifting was a bit hard at the beginning but runs smoother every mile i put on it. The overall driving experience is nice, the gears extremely long. You could easily drive it everyday to work. Not as mad as I expected.

We have now some minor issues left, but i did not want to wait anymore. The radio does not work and the front trunk only closes, when the cable to its lock is pulled. We also need to get rid off this crazy european immobilizer and alarm system.

By the way: The exhaust is way to quiet. My 2023 Porsche GT3 is much louder with stock exhaust, and there are nearly 20 years of noise emission regulations in between.

Welcome and yup on stock exhaust!

Great aftermarket options available as you likely know.

Will make your FGT growl and eliminate that factory heat sink.

Best colour!
Dave, I agree but then again we are partial. Hopefully he’ll wash it more than you wash yours.!
Hope you’re doing well, my friend. Cheers, Ron.

Hi Pete, thank you for your advice. This is exactly what i want to do. Just drive the car. But, as far as i can tell from my cars and the spare part situation i will sleep better with some brake discs in my shelf. As mentioned above i live near Frankfurt with Autobahns A3, A5 and A45 just in front of my home, so breaking at 200 mph/300 km/h is daily business on the way to work :ROFLMAO:

I know that the GT is a very reliable car compared to other supercars older, newer or same aged. But as a car keeper, it should be better to have some fitting discs, spark plugs, belts and so on.

I will definitely destroy the current tires from the day on, when i know about the overall condition of the car and i have a licence plate. The German Polizei would say nothing. Also the local TÜV guys. The problem is our Ministry of Motor Vehicles (Kraftfahrtbundesamt or KBA, sounds like a Secret Service). ONCE you have a plate, much more things are possible. Everyone from Polizei loves such kind of car (if it has approval from KBA)
Welcome aboard, you have truly acquired an iconic car that is simply a joy to drive and own. Mileage means nothing on these cars. In fact, cars that are driven are generally healthier than ones that are put away a showpieces.
I’m at 63,000 miles right now and have had no issues other than a minor gasket leak at the oil pan and a minor leak at the power steering unit. Both are very minor. I got my new in 2006 and every time I open the garage it’s absolutely a pleasure just to look at it of course driving it is much better.! enjoy the ride. You’re in good hands with GT 101.
FYI, the forum is a great resource for any questions you might have. The search button is very helpful.
Again, welcome aboard and enjoy the ride because it sure is epic
Cheers Ron
