I would like to introduce myself, I am Terry Shafer and I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I truly appreciate being
allowed into this forum. A few things about myself: I was hooked on the GT40's when I was in a Ford showroom that had one the Lemans winning 427 in the showroom and they fired it up! That was it for me. If I were to get cut, I would bleed Ford blue, partly because I spent 31 years as a Ford parts manager, and also
because my dad was a big Ford fan most of his life. Right now, the three garages at home house a 04 Mercury Mountaineer, a 1981 Ford flareside with a blown 302, and a 2000 Ford Lightning (500 rwhp). I just recently retired, due to my wife's health problems. Fortunately, the business had been very good to me, and I made
an investment a years ago that will allow me to continue my love affair with the automobiles. The first
acquisition will be a GT.
That's where all of you come in. There are quite a few for sale out there, and I think a black or red one is what I will pursue. I want to start out with one that is completely stock and unmolested. From what I"ve
seen, a lot of you are saying that the dealer in Jonesboro, Arkansas is extremely reputable, and I believe one of you even said that he had bought a GT from Shelby Smith sight unseen. Now considering I worked around car salesmen for 31 years, that is certainly saying a lot. So, as I get closer to the purchase, I will be relying
on some of you to steer me in the right direction. Thank you all in advance, and I look forward to one day getting to meet some of you.
