It probably tries all of the lock codes. Somehow I doubt that the wireless key fobs have high security. If they did that though there is some kind of chance it would also hit the panic alarm code.
I just learned of the way people are opening garage doors now. Push the center in at the top and reach in with a coat hanger and snag the emergency release cord and pull it out. Now you can open the door. The fix for this is to tie the cord up to something a little higher with a tie-wrap. You can't get it to release by pulling out. If you need to do it from inside, you can pull hard enough down to break the tie-wrap and release the door. Just FYI
