New Accufab GT X-Pipe

One more time................
Ford Racing Headers and stock muffler The best sound, no "Drone" and +18HP with no "tune". :rofl
I know the Cats have disappeared, and some have state to state hassles. But ,if you can get away with it, it is the best.

Where did the cat removal hp increase number come from?

Bill,

I'm looking to get rid of the stock muffler to save weight and improve engine compartment airflow.

Using the racing headers (with the required cat removal) with a non-stock muffler won't work either because that would be too LOUD for me.

Lighter weight, improved cooling and reasonable price are primary factors. Sound (sans drone), power increase and appearance (larger and better looking tips) are important, but secondary.

Eric

DLKGT,

Thanks fore the input, :thumbsup you have confirmed my decision. I'm getting exactly the same treatment as you got. Have you noticed any other changes, like temps and torque?

Craig

Ok, I get it.
I have heard the headers with the Borla muffler--------Geeezzze 148 DB!

EasyEric,
You have stated perfectly, the exact same thing I am looking for. Please stay in touch as you get any answers. I'll do the same.

Anybody in Arizona have the Accufab X-Pipe installed yet?

Nope, waiting for you to do it first :thumbsup

Will do PHXGT.

I'll keep you posted on what I find. Please feel free to send me and the forum any exhaust related info you come across as well.

Eric

Accufab says, if you don't like the x pipe for whatever reason, he'll take it back free of charge.

I've heard a GT with what you mention above... SWEAT!! I'm installing the headers right now, and I would like to try a X-pipe, but I'm afraid it will be too loud.

The X-pipe with baffels inside would be cool....

Ok, I'm really happy with my Midnite Blu with Accufab x-pipe, flash tune and intake support. One down and one to go, Heritage...Great sound, no drone, sounds like a GT should sound. This combination has my vote. John and Fred= good guys, know there stuffff. George

Good to hear. Did you dyno? Or butt dyno at least

No real dyno. Butt dyno say's improvement yes..GT sound Yes Yes Yes....George

Accufab works with Westech Dyno, I'm sure if you want your car Dynoed, they can do it for you.

Accufab exhaust

I just drove back from Ontario to San Diego after having the X-pipe, computer tune, and inlet support installed. It is much quieter than you would expect. When I first started the car I hardly noticed the difference from the inside, and very little difference outside at idle. It has a different sound than the muffler but not loud. The difference is when you get on it. Up to 1/4 throttle, it is a throaty, and tame sound. The neighbors and local police will not raise an eyebrow. 1/4 throttle to 3/4 throttle it starts to sound louder, especially with RPM, but still well within the "legal" limits. Conversation and radio is still viable. At 5000+ and full throttle, it is screaming. Still not obnoxiously loud, but it has lot of authority. I agree with the others that this is the way it should sound. As for the "dreaded drone", you can now hear the engine on the freeway at 2000 rpm, whereas before the engine was quieter than the road noise.

Haven't dynoed, but it seems to be somwhat quicker, with a faster throttle response.
