Need pricing help on selling my 05

I'm getting ready to place my order for a 2021 Carbon Series and just contemplating selling one of my GT's. I have a TT car I don't ever plan on selling and that's the one I drive 95% of the time. I bought this car through Kendall (nota4re) about 3-4 years ago. I bought it with 58K miles and it has just over 60K now. Maintenance is up to date, etc. I'll have check for sure but if I recall it had one blemish on an old carfax like a fender damage or something from over 10 years ago that was repaired. I bought it sight unseen through Kendall and he gave it the thumbs up. Anyway, I'm not sure I want to sell, but I am curious to what would be a good asking price IF I decide to sell. It's midnight blue.

That is a really interesting question. There is lots of public data for recent sales of cars with zero to 10k miles from normal auctions, and more recently, bringatrailer.com, but I have zero knowledge of transaction prices for cars with higher mileage. Hopefully others will be able to help.

You may want to ask folks to message you rather than starting a big public price discussion, just a thought.

I've been paying close attention to the prices of all the ~zero to sub 10k miles cars I could find since around May-June when I started shopping for mine, and those seem to go for $275k-$325k unless stripe delete (higher) or Heritage (much higher). I've seen very few higher mileage cars even come up for sale. Seems like guys either drive em and keep em, or don't drive em and keep em mostly for investment. So I found very few comps as far as mileage, and the TT aspect makes that even harder. Seems like a sale is just going to be a unique deal between you and a buyer looking for that car. That said, I value originality and low miles, so with the current ~$300k for an original very low mileage car, I probably would've considered your car for somewhere around $200k. Certainly no offense intended; just 1 guy's opinion, and I was looking for the low-mi, original cars. You might very well find others that have no problem at all with the mileage, and might even pay a premium for your mods. Good luck

No this car is my stock car. It does have a pulley and tune. I said I am and will not sell my twin turbo car. Thank you for the advice. Yes I don’t ever see any high mileage cars come up for sale but there are a lot of us that have high mileage cars out there.

Scroll down just below the chart for all of the individual completed listings, and note some are "Bid to" (reserve not met) and some are "Sold for" (reserve met). Add $5k to every price since that's the BaT's Buyer's Fee.

If I was selling mine that's the site I'd use. They seem to get good money. Maybe a dealer could do as good or better, but not likely where I live.

If this was a salvage title, I'd agree with your $. Here, he's admitting that there was slight fender damage, but it's not a salvage title. Even with the mileage, if it's well maintained, I'd guess more like a $225 #

Mileage means less and less.In fact driven cars with mileage have a plus side, if they have been taken care of.
If it is mint I would not take less then 240.Just my 02
A friend recently sold his 88k car for 200k and had offers for 225 after he had all ready committed to the 200k

My car was listed for sale on the forum for a good 4-5 months, and had 3 serious inquiries during that time. It's just harder to sell a car for these kinds of dollars without people getting nervous about buying a car remotely. One guy wanted an escrow agent to hold it. Finally gave in, and let the Pro's do it.

I understand those issues for sure, but for some reason I don't see them coming up on the Bring-a-Trailer site. It's as though buyers are convinced that BaT has thoroughly vetted every car, and that therefore most cars on BaT are essentially perfect, unless a flaw is disclosed or clearly visible in pics. Have never seen anybody ask in the comments to do a PPI, or whether one has already been done. Although, now that I think about it, it's certainly possible that bidders and the seller are communicating directly; I have seen sellers comment about bidders contacting them directly, outside the comments section. So I could envision a bidder doing a PPI and keeping the results to himself.

It seems like for GTs the biggest price factors are, in order: Heritage or not, mileage, color (the non-Heritage colors), and probably number of prior owners.

If BaT viewers / bidders are concerned about operational things like, How does it run? Does it leak? etc, I can't remember ever seen it in the auction comments.

I agree that you seem to get very good prices through BaT but we never know how many of the deals that actually go through afterwards. I would think most do, but I´ve also both experienced as well as heard about auctions where high bidders find a reason to not go through with the deal.

Like any other auction format, there is a great deal of hype and group pressure to bid higher and higher .... some times it seems like a public show off.

I recently bought a car there, I was probably 4th or 5th highest bidder but ended up getting the car offered after auction winner backing out on a technicality.

Hype?!? I’ll say. Watching old Broncos go through that site has been quite an experience. Selling at +10x more than original MSRP. Way better entertainment and economic value than owning gold. ;-))
