So I got this Platinuim 2015 F150 2 days ago.
I went with the 3.5 turbo because its the closest motor to the new GT! Ok not really I got the now available max tow package.I got a full optioned f150.The truck rides a bit firmer than the regular f150 tow package ,but it will tow a small house.Or in my case a race car and trailer.
The truck is a wonderful luxury vehicle! The interior is beautiful and much more functional. Kudos to Ford they really nailed it!It puts my 2013 to shame!

Hey Ron great looking ride.

Nice looking ride Ron!
I like the color combo as well.

Nice I checked on the price at the autoshow and they said 65,000 My other Platinum's 12 through 14 were 52k to 55k loaded. I was a little shocked at the jump.
Wife said she wants a Raptor loaded like her platinum...... I was like what???

Nice Truck Ron, Inner rear fender wheel liners are best dealer installed option I get.

Nice truck, Ron.

Obviously very competitive market segment, and lots of conflicting opinions in various magazine tests. Most agree, however, that Ford has hit it pretty well.

I still am leery of a V-6 in a 1 ton or better truck. ( Let alone a GT! ) I think one of the EcoBoost engines is 2.7L? I know AJB is happy with his, but I wonder. Let us know how it performs over time. Give us the Lime Rock time - without trailer.

The thing that really amazes me is the prices. I think you could spend $80K on a heavy duty!! That's crazy to me.

I think I will plan on hanging on to my '12 F-350 dually for a long time. ( Last one lasted 10 years, with original battery. ) The 6.2 engine is a dog and a gas hog, but I'm not sure a $60K replacement would be any better. I had the V-10 in the last one, and liked that engine a lot. Then they improved it over the years, but in "12 you could only get it in an E chassis. Auto companies do strange things!

Ron,

I picked up my new 2015 F-150 about a month ago from Santa Margarita Ford and it's been great. Excellent truck. I sold my 2004 Expedition with 201,000 miles on it for 5K and it still runs like brand new. On my new F-150 I ordered it with the 385 HP 5.0 V-8. The EcoBoost V-6 may tow better but that V-8 sounds better!!

we can run em at r10!

Just a quick F-150 story to share. I lent my 2015 F-150 to a friend, who happens to work for Mercedes. When he brought it back he said his entire family liked it more than the Mercedes vehicles they drive. He was shocked at the ride quality and amenities while still being able to haul a lot of lumber and concrete. Definitely a home run by Ford.

I certainly understand what Chip is talking about. I thought about a 5.0 V8 as well. Bought my son-in-law an F150 because I wanted to borrow it occasionally to tow my car(s). Actually I credit Blake for suggesting this. I opted for the EcoBoost, 365hp/420 ftlbs, V6 with the Max Tow option. This F150 is rated to pull 11,200 pounds! It never knows there is a car and trailer attached to it...... Pretty amazing and not bad gas mileage towing a car.:thumbsup

Turbo charge it Chip, then you'll have best of both worlds.

2017 3.5 EcoBoost numbers released today, it's now Best in Class gas or diesel and is rated at 470 lb.ft. of torque. Coupled with the 10 speed auto it should be plenty capable.

The incredible gets even better!
The F150 is really a nice (and capable) truck!

I ordered my 2017 eco boost F150 in May. The 10 speed will be unique as will be the new "start/stop engine technology."
My current 2016 has about 16,000 miles and is superb.!

So what's wrong with the 2016?

Nothing is wrong with it. Andy is an early adopter. You know, on the cutting edge.
