First I need to thank so many people for making this experience for my dad and me the best we could have ever expected. Upon heading out to Rally VI I decided to try to make the Mojave Mile in California being my car would be shipped to Utah and it wouldn't be that much further to ship to LA so I started asking questions to forum members as to who would be willing to except, store, and care for my car for the weeks to come before the mile event. Rich Brooks suggested that I contact our moderator Rick Saute (Shelby #18) to see if he could help out so I contacted Rick and without a second of hesitation he had everything mapped out. Rick worked with my shipping company, took delivery, stored and cared for Mellow Yellow without a moment of hesitation whatsoever as well as loaned out his HANS and arm restraints at the last minute:ack. I would like to publicly thank Rick for taking the many many many phones calls from me and taking his valuable time from his family/work to help me through this process. Without Rick’s help this event wouldn’t have been possible for us so “THANK YOU RICK” you are a class act.

Also I need to thank Kendall Pond and Ryan of Cool Tech (nota4re) for going over Ricks to pick up my car, adding a tank of C-16, changing the oil, and going over everything to make sure the car was race ready and most importantly safe for both dad and I.

Last but certainly not least my pit crew :biggrin Terry & Monica (Apollo) your guidance throughout this event was priceless to both dad and I. Thanks for helping with installing the tune, torque my wheels, buckling us in, airing up the tires, getting our shift points right on, using the motor home, driving strategy, and above all treating us both with such care and regard as if we were royalty.

It was so great to hang out with Jim (JJayB), Kendall, Terry & Monica, and I can’t forget Tom (skyrex) and Summer for equally treating us as if we’ve known each other for a lifetime.

What a great group of forum members we have!!!! THANKS TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic to meet you as well and Summer and I both hope to see you in the future. As I said on a couple other threads, Great accomplishment for both of you!! :thumbsup:thumbsup :cheers

John, it was absolutely my pleasure to lend out a helping hand. I'm glad you and your dad were able to spend the time you did together, and to experience the event. Hope to see you and dad again at a future event.
Congratulations to both of you!

Hi John and Rob,
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH FOR FAR EXCEEDING YOUR PERSONAL GOALS! These cars have a way of helping do that.

We had such a great time seeing you and meeting your Dad. It was an absolute joy to see the expressions and emotions between you and your father. We had a great time and seeing you and your father run, it made the hair stand up on the back of my neck and brought a tear to Monica's eyes (ok mine too...). Monica and I were glad to be of assistance and look forward to the next great adventure for the GT group!:thumbsup:thumbsup:biggrin:biggrin

This was my first event with the FGT and didn't know what to expect. Having said that, I can only say thanks to all of you for taking a newbie and making him feel like one of the family. John and Rob saved me the embarrassment of having to pretend to like corvettes even though i talked to many of them,
I was able to exceed my personal goal with some coaching form Terry and Tom. Summer and Monica kept the cookies coming.

I have to say when I pulled into the pits between two corvettes I was a bit skeptical when I heard one driver say "I hate fords", and the other say ya I'd bet you'd take that GT, he said "in a heart beat" which I thought was pretty funny as the guy was wearing a Corvette shirt that said heartbeat of America.

Didn't get to say good bye to all as I had to leave Saturday night as my wife had to tend to her mother who's ill.

I can't wait for the next FGT events.
Jim

JJay -

There's the possibility of a Fall Run in Southern California, so keep your eyes peeled to the Forum in the "Ford GT Owners Section"

Probably between Nov 1 and Nov 16

The SoCal FGT owners are a great bunch.

It was great to meet you as well Jim. We hope your mother in law improves.

If you had fun hitting 180+ think how much fun hitting 200 could be. Consider coming out for the GT Speed day in April. Should have at least 20+ GT's, only 30 cars total and with the longer course 200mph should be in your future. We would love to see you there. More cookies included of course. :cheers
