The guy with that collection must have a lot of mileage out of his last name.

I thought I had a problem moving cars around when I wanted to drive something.

Went to school gal named Anita Fok.

Yup, imagine that one coming over the school PA system with an emergency.

Most of his cars are very low mileage. Probably drives them a couple times and puts them away.

The Ford GT would be the last car I sold out that picture.

He got pretty good money for everything. I assume he had a substantial deal with Mecum on the lot.

Blows my mind people are paying around $1.3m for F12 TdFs. His and one other both went just over $1.3m. I mean, yeah, it's cool, love the sound and the look, but you'd have to be out of your mind IMO to pay that money for a 1 of 799(yeah right) variant of a car that is produced in the thousands and typically worth $200-300k. That's more than a 2k mile 918 went for in Scottsdale. I think you'd have to really, really care about that prancing horse logo to make that call...

I was shocked last night at the prices at Barrett Jackson. In today's economy buyers are "feeling their oats"!!! Should make tonight interesting.

Andy, how do you think we square this with the Mecum 4 option car 371 miles only $290k? It appears that despite the ever stronger economy, our '05-'6 cars are still not hitting the sales prices they did in '15-'16.

Many good new cars in the market.
'18 720S with little miles can be had for about $340k as an example.

I was going to bid on this car in 2015 at Kissimmee. I was even up on stage and it got to $290K in a heartbeat, selling for $300K. Still on MSO from original dealer with 560 miles. Seems prices have flat lined since.

Auction prices were all over the place. Any weakness isn't because of other cars IMO. It's basically the opposite.

GTs have been a reasonable store of value for collectors the last couple years. If you were even thinking about it, which I think auction buyers often are, I wouldn't be skipping paying $300k on a GT so I could lose $100k driving a 720S for a year. I'd be skipping paying $300k on a GT so I could throw a dart at the board and make 30% on literally anything. DJIA 19,800 ---> 26,000 in a year.

I no longer put recent supercars in same class as 05-06 GT. No end to HP and performance wars. GT is a classic. No recent cars come close to the design. Not sure why market is soft. Z8s also way down in this month's auctions. American muscle seems to be heading back up. I guess natural fluctuations in the markets!!

Most of our cars are still worth a good bit more than we paid and the return on investment can't only be measure in just $$$.
