As stated, maybe there is hope, that there will still be some offerings for us wirerdos that still enjoy 3 pedals. Yes Rex, I'm consistent.

That's welcome news. There are still enough 3 pedal fans like us to justify production of manual transmission variants.

Ya think? I just feel like these guys are throwing us a bone. All their profit is in paddles and dual clutch trans. I'm honestly shocked any of the major manufacturers offer them at all anymore. I'm very glad they do, but I'm surprised they derive any benefit at all when the Slacker, Gen X, Millennial, or whatever this worthless cell phone carrying, viral video taking generation is called cares about is things being made easy and/or just given to them.....wait, what were we talking about?

Waahhhh waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh.

What kind of gear box does a Formula 1 car have? How about an LMP1 car? It ain't because it's easy.

I like my manual transmission cars. I like flappy paddle cars.

I didn't say it wasn't easier, I said it's not because it's easier.

Yeah, yeah. It's because it's faster. That's why the Forza generation loves dem paddles. Ring time bragging rights is very important for 16 year old stop light racers.

Ask yourself what video games were available when the full-time use of the third pedal in top level motorsport started to go away.

My brain is in sleep mode while I drink my morning coffee b/c I'm completely missing your point. Is it that A) the use of the paddle actuated transmissions in motorsports preceded Forza (TM), B) paddles are really a product of 'my' generation rather than the current crop of slackjawed teenagers, or C....???

If manufacturers are worried about the take rate, make a manual a cost option.

I'm so hardcore, I paid EXTRA for a manual.

They aren't driving those cars for fun.

A DCT race car certainly isn't boring, but they don't use the DCT because it increases driver enjoyment. It's just a superior tool for the job.

Well, I hate to point out the obvious, but....manufacturers build what people want to buy. It's a profit-making business!

That said, my wife's GL450 is the only car at our house with an automatic (if you don't count the race car, which does have paddles because...wait for it...it's faster!

When my buddy Kiwi (Rest In Peace) was working at Motortrend he was clocked in a manual trans Ferrari but was shifting faster than their F1 trans.
Granted that was years ago but it's still the racers choice.
I love the 6 speed in my 302S.
I hope my left knee can take a few more seasons.

I wouldn't trade my PDK 991 TTS for a stick, ever. While I love the stick/ clutch in my FGT...if it had a PDK, I'd be all in.

Take a paddle shift car round a track shifting it yourself. Then take it round again letting it do the shifting. I'm pretty sure you'll be quicker. Chris Goodwin (chief test driver for McLaren) says the fastest way around a track is auto mde. Much as I love manuals, DCTs are superior.
